THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Since you ask here is the legend that is Nigel.

To all Remoaners, hot off the press from Brussels------Britain cannot now change it's mind.
The EU said of the Article 50 split legislation, ''Once triggered, it cannot be unilaterally reversed''

Laurenrose - 20 Jul 2017 11:34 - 78614 of 81564

the uk does not need the eu we should now walk away . we do not need a trade agreement with them ,
merkel and tusk tell trump we do not want trade embargoes we want to trade free with
the world , then say the uk must when they leave the eu pay tariffs

you could not make it up

Donald told merkel why do you talk so stupid about free trade then want to charge the uk to pay fees ,
he then looked at her for the answer she looked down to her feet

2517GEORGE - 20 Jul 2017 11:52 - 78615 of 81564

According to Hans-Olaf Henkel the EU's 2 top Brexit chiefs Barnier and Verhofstadt want to punish Britain to stop other countries leaving.

Why on earth would they want to leave Utopia?

Laurenrose - 20 Jul 2017 11:59 - 78616 of 81564

George great post ,

Why Jacob Rees-Mogg for Tory leader is no laughing matter

Michael Segalov

Thursday 20 July 2017 14.09 BST

From being on Ali G to naming his kid Sixtus, the MP is seen to have a winning way. But Mogg-mentum must be stopped before it becomes a disastrous reality

It’s not entirely clear who is more surprised that Jacob Rees-Mogg is being touted as the next Tory leader – the British public, or the MP for North East Somerset himself. Rees-Mogg has made a name for himself by appearing on the Ali G Show, naming his children Sixtus Dominic Boniface and Anselm Charles Fitzwilliam, and using obscure words like floccinaucinihilipilification in the chamber – but talk of a leadership bid is anything but a joke.

That's great news !!!!

Max Rees Mogg for PM would be great an intelligent man who also says it as it is .

2517GEORGE - 20 Jul 2017 15:38 - 78619 of 81564

jb----maybe not for everyone on here but certainly the majority of the UK.

As for JRM an excellent choice, as I posted just after the election result, however I still think TM should be permitted to continue, at least through the (now) irreversible Brexit process

Yeehaaa

jimmy b - 20 Jul 2017 15:55 - 78620 of 81564

Yes it would be a mistake to stab her in the back.

Fred1new - 20 Jul 2017 16:04 - 78621 of 81564

I would vote for the anorexic Bunter to be the leader of the tory party.

Perfect choice for the party of yester-dayers.

Irrevocably so.

A perfect solution to all the little englanders' problems.

2517GEORGE - 20 Jul 2017 16:16 - 78622 of 81564

1. Except you don't vote
2. Brexit will open far more trading opportunities for ours and future generations
3.---
4. Say farewell to the shrinking EU and hello big wide world

cynic - 20 Jul 2017 16:17 - 78623 of 81564

i think JRM is a great guy with massive talent, but in today's media age i am sad to say he would not make a party leader, any more than would douglas-home

2517GEORGE - 20 Jul 2017 16:29 - 78624 of 81564

Post 2020 it would be good to give him the chance to prove you wrong cynic

cynic - 20 Jul 2017 16:52 - 78625 of 81564

he really would put off an awful lot of voters .... his manner comes across as too patrician for most though his ability is undoubted

one could as justifiably say that boris would make a good party leader, except .....!!!!

Stan - 20 Jul 2017 17:42 - 78626 of 81564

The so called Brexit lot are so desperate for attention they seem to have abandoned their Ref. thread and are now polluting this one... mind you that's not difficult with the Tory Muppets also in place -):

Leave Europe?.. I very much doubt it.

Fred1new - 20 Jul 2017 17:53 - 78627 of 81564

I would vote for the Greyfriar's lot. Billy Bunter for party leader and the anorexia moggy for deputy. A deal made in heaven.

A perfect selection for a bright future.

-==-=---==

Boris be quiet!

Fred1new - 20 Jul 2017 17:55 - 78628 of 81564

or,

Boris can go and whistle!

MaxK - 20 Jul 2017 17:59 - 78629 of 81564

What we are seeing is political theatre, much huffin and puffin whilst the real work is done behind the scenes.

We will end up paying a token (face saving) contribution to the €uro coffers for access. There is no other way when push come to shove, the €uro's have a lot more to lose.

What cannot be permitted is any type of control by the various €uro-organs, European courts etc. That way lies madness! (Fred and Stan type solutions)

2517GEORGE - 20 Jul 2017 18:09 - 78630 of 81564

Ha! Ha! Stan's a Remoaner in denial

Fred1new - 20 Jul 2017 18:37 - 78631 of 81564
