How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

We just had a browse of ww2 and it's a euro site. The seem to have a different server for euro customers. If you look the adverts are in German.

Some of you logging in to the site this morning may have suffered some site slowness. This was caused by a routing problem suffered by one of our external suppliers and affected Betfair between 10:38 and 11:00 this morning. The site was available throughout this period but some members may have been affected when trying to access Betfair.

Wed like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this network problem. We are investigating this fault to try to ensure that it does not happen again.

Best regards

The Betfair Team

"the more i trade the more i question how many triers there are in each race "

I agree, fortunately it doesn't make a difference when you trade but for punters it looks very poor even if it is legitimate.

Fundamentalist - 12 Jan 2006 14:21 - 7910 of 10502

Scrip

its got to the stage where i am actually letting some of my lays run, there just seems no way the horse is going to be allowed to win. Has to be said the worst of it is on the all weather.

Short term, yes its good for traders, but long term it will drive the punters away which will ultimately be bad for traders

Scripophilist - 12 Jan 2006 14:42 - 7911 of 10502
