David Anderson(CROCODILE)

Bullshare - 25 May 2004 10:53

It is with deep regret I have to inform everyone that Dave Anderson(Crocodile) sadly passed away last night in his sleep.

This is a complete shock to all his family and friends, therefore can I ask everyone to respect their privacy and not phone his home etc.

David was the most likable and open person I have ever met and a huge friend of mine and MoneyAMs.

Whatever I post will never come near doing justice to this great man, so I will simply stop here.

Mike

20.13 I have had a few brief conversations with David's family today. Despite all that has happened they have managed to briefly log onto MoneyAm and seen the numerous postings. I know they are moved by the response. The family are in the process of organising David's funeral but matters are slightly complicated with the Bank Holiday weekend. I will post more in due course when I have some more information.

26 May:I have received many many e-mails with offers of help and offers of sympathy. Many thanks for all these and apologises if I have not been able to reply but I will get round to it. I will also make sure those that have asked me to pass on any messages to Davids family get sent on.

In the meantime I know many of you are wondering what happened. At this stage it is not for me to go into details but suffice to say it is of a natural cause and totally unexpected.

David had withdrawn a little from the site over the last few weeks as he felt he wanted to devote more time to looking after Maria who is very poorly. Although he did not post much in the day I do know he was constantly logging on. He still continued to burn the midnight oil to create each day traders thread and he would spend about 15 hours each weekend creating the Weekend/Monday thread.

16.34 26/May Have come off the phone from Rachel(David's daughter). Today is not an easy day for the family, I think they were so busy yesterday that today has been harder as it has had time to sink in. We talked about Funeral arrangements and Rachel mentioned that they could not book anything yet but will let me know as soon as possible. She mentioned once again about all the postings which they have been busy reading and thank everyone for all the kind words and thoughts. They will arrange a public funeral as they know a lot of people would like to attend.

A message from David's Family:(posted on David's website Snappytrader.com)

I have been to

SnappyTrader.com

where the usual stuff is still there but David's family have also added a personal message at the top of the SnappyTrader.com Home Page.

If you would like to read it, just click on the link.

My first post on money AM, never meet David nor posted on his BB, but I visited his home page every night. I was dumfounded when I read the message from his family. My thoughts are with them, though grief stricken they must be so proud knowing David was so well respected. He represented to me the "human face of trading" Godbless

Rest in peace

I hope no one minds but Shares Magazine would like to pay a small trubute to David in next weeks magazine, I can't think of anything more fitting than using a few of your very kind words expressed on these BB's. I hope you therefore don't mind if I pick just a few which I think summarise the thoughts of those who have posted.

Managed to catch up to what happened after being on holiday
for a week and couldn't quite believe the sad news about Croc.

Croc was the main reason that attracted me to MoneyAm in the
first place.

His professionalism and enthusiasm shone through in his posts.
Although he was the consummate professional he had a gift of
imparting friendliness and approachability with his knowledge
that always made you feel welcome. Nothing was too much bother
for him, and when he answered your questions you felt as if you
were talking to a friend, not a teacher.

He gave you the feeling that he was a man you could trust and count on.
He's left large footprints that other people will find difficult to match.

Croc was a natural.

Although we never met we spoke on the phone and via e-mails - A great man and entrepreneur who will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends both here and on the other board.

DEXTERDOG - 30 May 2004 20:43 - 93 of 98

I have returned from a week in Marbella where I logged into the other site and was totally confused at the very sad news.

I always read David's thoughts for the week this time on a Sunday night.

David was an inspiration, I first met him at one of the many do's in London and soon arranged a day out to the Midlands where Pretzil and I were made most welcome with Maria as the lovely hosstess.

I had already ordered a pc and collected it that day and it has use everyday in my office.

I learnt much that day, bots channels and the like and put it to good use whenever possible.

It was a later occassion at a GNI "do" I had finally broken positive with my trading and felt I had joined the city slickers, at 56 you tend to find such thoughts had long passed.

We met up afterwards at a trendy bar in St. Pauls where I had the greatest of pleasures in buying a couple of bottles of the fizzy stuff to celebrate my new found status, it was a real pleasure to see David enjoy that as a francophile I know he liked the good stuff.

We nearly met up in Le Touquet where I was staying for a short break, but you had left a few days earlier.

The Victoria do we had a chat and some beers after and I just assumed you would always be there.

I am enriched by knowing you, I am sad at your passing, and know whereever you have slipped orf to they will be enriched by your presence.

Maria my thoughts are for you to get better soon.

Shocked & saddened to hear of David's death, He was tireless in helping & educating others & a very charming person, met him only twice but always read his analysis & postings with interest & learnt quite a lot.

As someone said he was a scholar & a gentlemean & will be sorely missed by all.

Heartfelt condolances to the family & Thanks for the contributions he made to many.

God Bless.

RIP
