:)))

I've got 1.9805ish as a possible turning point but expect it to challenge 1.9750ish so will keep position open with a profit stop in.

mm
Can be a bit messy but it sometimes gives the desired effect 8>)

mg - 16 May 2007 14:01 - 7913 of 11056

OOOOps - that caught me - stopped out for 40 pips

goforit - 16 May 2007 14:37 - 7914 of 11056

good thing i had tight stoplosses. internet v.slow here today(spain), anyone else having problems!

mg - 16 May 2007 16:17 - 7915 of 11056

Doncha just hate it when you get taken out by a stop and then it eventually does what you were punting :(

May try a long if it gets back to 790.

Seymour Clearly - 16 May 2007 17:02 - 7916 of 11056

Yesterday I thought I was being premature with my evaluation about closing my long out within the day. You could have had ~90-100 pips mg - annoying but there's always tomorrow. Just wish I'd reversed.

foale - 17 May 2007 08:21 - 7917 of 11056

Cable 1.9630-50 anybody..?

Seymour Clearly - 17 May 2007 08:30 - 7918 of 11056

I think 1.9760 is strong resistance. But WDIK :-)

Haven't got time to post a chart.

Personally I think it might just be a long this morning. Mind you my normal trading style is to decide what it should be and then do the opposite :)

SC and PTH
I 'm long from 9760, 70, 80 and 90 - so I suggest you go short :(

Stops in at 19740 - a bit too generous I know - but I'm in one of those F....IT moods - S..T or bust is my back up safety position !!

ptholden - 17 May 2007 08:47 - 7921 of 11056

mg

I have every confidence in your back up plan, errrr, I think!! Long from 74, was thinking of adding but am a scaredy cat :)

pth

Edit: PS nice to see peeps posting again.

qwento - 17 May 2007 09:41 - 7922 of 11056

GBPUSD - a defined channel on the daily with lower highs and the 55 EMA providing support for the past 5 days.

However the 55 is getting very close to the 200 on the 4 hour.

Something has got to give !

chocolat - 17 May 2007 09:49 - 7923 of 11056

Indeedy.
Beginning to wonder if it'll have a bash at 1.9730 first.

mg - 17 May 2007 10:07 - 7924 of 11056

Oh ye of little faith ...... let's see where this move takes us - GULP

EDIT - whoopsy - back down again :(

chocolat - 17 May 2007 11:45 - 7925 of 11056

The $ collapsed from 82 support level following the press release that China yuan reforms will not accelerate under US pressure, and it bottomed at and re-tested 81.66 early yesterday. The Euro followed in tandem, retesting 1.36 on the back of other newsy things.

I have a down slopey thingie that gave cable support on Star Wars day, and it's giving a bit of the old resistance gyp this morning. Short from 1.9779 with a tight stop of course :S

ptholden - 17 May 2007 11:56 - 7926 of 11056

Got over my scaredy cat ness and did add earlier afterall, closed both on the spike, tried another long after the retracement, but got a bit scared and closed that for a small loss. Currently short, but who knows?

foale - 17 May 2007 11:58 - 7927 of 11056

Well got stopped out of short on thatspike up to 90...
but decided to reshort

1.9760 very strong support but when it goes...could go far imo....

sticking with 1.9600 to 1.9630 target

hilary - 17 May 2007 12:19 - 7928 of 11056

Ditto, foale. Spikes should be outlawed.

I see that the 10-minute macd has stayed below the zero line all morning despite the spike up.

mg - 17 May 2007 12:20 - 7929 of 11056

Rollox - moved my stops up to 50 and they've all been taken out - so thats -10, -20, -30, -40 NET -100 . .......... and now what does it do - ah well, serves me right for being a pratt. Tomorrow's another day, of course....

goforit - 17 May 2007 12:25 - 7930 of 11056

watching with interest, as i said the other day important area on the daily chart re fib level and ditto the above

mg - 17 May 2007 12:31 - 7931 of 11056

I will now be mainly sulking for a couple of days - it's an mg thing - so don't expect me to post - 'cos I don't do posts when I'm officially sulking.

Some people have trading rules - I have sulking rules - OK !!
