Remembering the fallen from the last great wars is one thing but looking back at what they left behind is another.

The Channel Islands - The Germans occupied the Islands as we all know, many Islanders collaborated with them, for which they received rich rewards being paid in German Marks. The British Government changed all those ill gotten German Marks for British Pounds without question at the end of the war, leaving behind the most corrupt interdependent outpost of the Queens legislators that hold power in the form of the Crown Officers and as the Speaker of their Parliament, ensuring the secrets and corrupt and criminal activities, are not only hidden but actively promoted around the world, by way of denial of being a Tax Haven and actively promoting Tax Avoidance.

Jersey, being the worst of all, as can be seen by the reports following the Child Abuse Inquiry that was launched, as it seems to have provided a cover to whitewash the actions of those in Power.

The UK Government needs to take direct control, remove the Governor and Bailiff and Judges from their posts and ask why they are so desperate to hang on to power. Do the Government and Crown fear what may come to light? Are those dark days of occupation for the honest hardworking Islanders, who suffered under the rule of the Germans that worked with the elite Islanders any better off for all the riches that tax haven wealth has brought to the rich?

Mr. Gordon Brown is right, close these parasitic havens down and stop them doing deals with the rich and powerful that care nothing about human rights.

I have nothing against getting rid of parasites, we have more than enough hiding in the woodwork, but why didn't Gordon Brown do it when he had many years to do so? Maybe its all to do with promoting a book.

Anyone of the States Assembly that are not part of the establishment should ask themselves WHY do they want to continue with this double roll, Why are they not happy to separate their rolls in the Judicial from their political rolls?

Will they be paid less? NO
Will they be less able to control their destiny? YES

Will the Crown officers be able to control the Police if they are removed from Political Power?

Would the House of Parliament allow the Queen to appoint a speaker to control the house, and prevent elected members speaking, and being parties to having them jailed?

I have a question for someone , when all these people go and use offshore facilities when do they get the benefit , what's the point really , they are usually the very well off that use it , it just seems well obviously greed but surely much of the money will never be used legally . Expatriates who are paid offshore in dollars or sterling usually use an offshore bank. I used RBS International in Jersey. All quite legal. Once I returned to the UK, I paid the tax due on the period while i was in the UK and then transferred the balance to a mainland account. There is nothing illegal about companies using so called tax havens despite all the hubbub about it. What is obscene is the amount of tax we pay and how much is wasted.
