GOLD OIL PLC (GOO)

driver - 23 Feb 2006 15:42

GOLD OIL, the London-based oil exploration company focused on the South American and Caribbean region, announces that in late December 2005, the Company received an Operator Certificate from PeruPetro that allows the Company to carry out seismic, drilling and development operations in Northwest Peru.
The Promotion Licence signed with PeruPetro on October 15, 2004 with PeruPetro for Block XI (now renamed Block XXI) onshore Sechura Basin has been converted to an Exploration and Production Licence. The Licence now goes to the Ministry of Energy and Mines for approval, which could be forthcoming anytime between February and May of this year 2006.
The terms of the E&P Licence commit the Company to either shoot 120 km of 2D seismic or drill a well in the first period of five over a seven year term. The remaining four periods require the Company to either drill a well or drop the acreage. The Licence is for a term of 30 years for oil and 40 years for gas, with a minimum royalty of 5% on wellhead production for the first 5000bopd (30 MMscfd for gas) rising to 20% if and when production reaches 100,000 bopd (600 MMscfd for gas).

Times Article:
Gold Oil is valued in the market at about 15m. That is so small that almost any good news must have a big impact on the share price.
What are the chances of that happening? Run by a former Burmah Oil director, Mike Burchell, Gold Oil will drill the first in a series of wells in the Sechura Basin in April. There will be surprise if it does not find gas, as another company, Olympic, has done just that in a similar formation nearby.
The secondary target, later in the year, will be oil, I gather. A couple of months ago, Petro Tech made a big oil find offshore in the Sechura Basin. The theory is the oil may have migrated up into Gold Oils block. Dont ask me to explain the geology because I dont speak Palaeozoic. But a decent oil find here would be a company-maker.
Gold Oil has enough cash to fund this years drilling programme. And it already has a deal in place to sell its gas to Mann Ferrostaal, a German company that is building an ammonia plant nearby. Getting all that for 15m seemed a bargain to me. But Gold Oil still has to find its gas.

Lizard seems like the mms happy to soak up very large sells over last three days .

lizard - 21 Aug 2006 14:00 - 797 of 4580

perhaps they still have some big buy orders still to fill capetown?.

capetown - 21 Aug 2006 14:11 - 798 of 4580

Possible or they are happy to stock up on them as usually by now the sp would have drifted a little lower on these volumes of sales dont you think

lizard - 21 Aug 2006 14:33 - 799 of 4580

capetown - 21 Aug 2006 15:41 - 800 of 4580

lizard - 21 Aug 2006 15:51 - 801 of 4580

just waiting on updates now- more then likely will gradually go lower- but news could come anytime. also im holding for a few more years yet. so these swings dont bother me, the right news flow which takes time does as does building a company.

capetown - 21 Aug 2006 15:53 - 802 of 4580

I agree, rejocying over my rift holding today, dont you just love the wonders of the market

HARRYCAT - 21 Aug 2006 22:47 - 803 of 4580

Question:
At 16.38 today a 'buy' went through for 500,000 shares @9.62p but was called a "Single protected transaction".
Any ideas?

ptholden - 21 Aug 2006 23:23 - 804 of 4580

Harrycat

A 'protected trade' is one that is worked during the day. The trade is protected so that the MM working the order can do so throughout the day at an agreed price without affecting the bid/offer of that particular stock to the MM's detriment. In this instance, it looks like the trade was a sell.

When it comes to trades it looks like not all of us are working from the same hymn sheet!
Still, I should know the rules before I join eh?

explosive - 22 Aug 2006 20:26 - 808 of 4580

Things are getting very interesting with GOO, market is waking up and there has to be an announcement soon!!!

HARRYCAT - 22 Aug 2006 20:59 - 809 of 4580

One more question I'm afraid:
One of the directors, Mr B. Underwood owns 74m shares.
Mr I. Parvisi owns 30m shares.
Should the SP move up significantly it's unlikely that Mr. U. would sell much of his holding as he has an interest in the company as a director.
What is to stop Mr P. from offloading a large part of his holding, thus affecting the SP? How many can he sell in one hit? Is there a limit?
Obviously I'd like to take profit before he does!

janetbennison - 22 Aug 2006 21:04 - 810 of 4580

lets hope the announcement is going to be tomorro, and are good results. nice to see good results today for hardman. I thought about buying hardman a few days ago at .585 but did not. Mistake. got 161,585 goo at present, i reduced my holding to this yesterday. sold 40,000 yesterday at .095pence. Made a decent profit on those ones. bought at .065p and .075p. The ones I am holding average out at .o988p bout two lots the other day at .115p and .12p at the highest level since I have been buying them. just hope for good results now and maybe stop in for the long term. I am formerly candolim. Good luck everyone. keeping my fingers crossed for us all.

Latest from http://www.goldoilplc.com/peru2.html........August 22, 2006
Ran tubing and retreived bridge plug. Ran tubing to bottom, circulated clean and installing master valve prior to testing Palaeozoic.

ptholden - 22 Aug 2006 22:07 - 812 of 4580

Harry

There is nothing to stop Mr P offloading the whole lot in one go and I doubt you would ever know he was selling. If he were to sell the whole lot in one go, the MM would agree a selling price and then work the order over a period of time until they were all gone. The only possible indication you would have that a large sell was being worked would be the behaviour of the MMs on L2 and possible interpretation of the trades. The MM working th order would keep the details very close to his chest in order that the other MMs do not get wind of the deal and collapse the SP.

If I were you I would forget about Mr P and his shares. You do not know what his 'plan' is, medium or short term. Set your own target, whether it be a profit or acceptable loss and stick by it. If the SP continues to rise after you have sold, no matter, you have made a profit and be happy with it.

HARRYCAT - 22 Aug 2006 22:32 - 813 of 4580

Cheers again pth.
Don't worry. I always know what profit margin (%) I am targeting.
I just hope it's marginally less than Mr. P's.
