THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

jimmy b, There are always those that try asking crazy prices for property and other goods, just in case they find a potty buyer that just wants it and will pay anything to get the property of choice.

After allowing gravity to do the work of dropping the baby's heart back into its chest, I see the surgeon then covered the hole up with gory text, smacked the baby's bottom, and then sent it on its way for the rest of its life.

Amazing!

And another surgeon has been carving his initials on his patients' transplanted livers.

Cheeky or wot?

I cannot imagine how hard it must be on the parents, and what a relief when these operations are successful.

As a Father of twins that were born before due date and suffered numerous opps and ailments when they were babies, I know the joy of being told that all treatments have all been a success and able to take them home after being discharged, and that is nothing on the scale of having a child born with its heart on the outside.

Just found an excellent product which I'm extremely pleased with and which I'm going to recommend to you.

I use it on all my car windows except for the windscreen and it keeps them all extremely clear for exceptionally long periods of time - and particularly the rear window and the wing mirrors too.

It's called Rain-X Water Repellent

Here's something we should all be aware of. It tells you that ignorance of the law is no excuse and it teaches you what can happen if you don't take a good amount of personal responsibility for things.

This was an extremely aggressive lesson, that was taught to the defendant, IMHO. And particularly so, because most councils are obstructive and do not make it easy for punters and trades-persons to dump their waste.

If you look at the waste in the picture, you will see it doesn't look to be toxic and also, that there isn't a tremendous amount of it. This should have been the easiest thing, just to take it to the local waste tip and dump it FREE OF CHARGE - But you cannot just do it like that. The council want to make it complicated and charge you for it:

From my local rag:

Disposing of waste costs Northampton resident nearly £5,000

A Northampton resident has seen his costs reach almost £5,000 after his waste was fly-tipped near Castle Ashby last year.

In May 2017, Damanjot Gaubrey, 30 of Borrowdale Walk, near Kettering Road, was ordered to pay a total of £1,141 in fines and costs by Northampton Magistrates’ Court following the prosecution brought by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC).

The sentence came after he admitted paying for the removal of builders' waste without confirming the person he hired was an authorised waste carrier.

During an unsuccessful appeal against the sentence at Northampton Crown Court on Thursday, December 7, His Honour Judge Fowler ordered Gaubrey to pay a further £3,810 in council costs.

Councillor Dermot Bambridge, SNC’s portfolio holder for environmental services, said: “Householders have a duty of care and must by law take reasonable steps to check the person they entrust to dispose of their waste is authorised to do so."

“There was no new evidence presented at the appeal to suggest Gaubrey carried out sufficient checks. What’s more, the Judge noted his income had been grossly underestimated before the magistrates’ and he clearly saw no reason why the tax payer should be out of pocket defending such a frivolous appeal.”

Authorised waste carriers must have a waste carrier’s licence and householders should ask to see it and obtain a receipt.

They should also make a note the collector’s name, telephone number and vehicle details, and be wary of individuals advertising waste collection services on social media or those ‘door knocking.'

Your old friend who you thought shouldn't be investigated has resigned.

Do you mean Manuel?

Don't fancy a full page exposure of the latter.

A few 'WOW!'s in the following:

Wedding to cost £22m
Bride's Wedding Dress to cost £374,000
Transport for the 700 wedding guests to cost £1.5m
Since Harry is worth £30m and Megan only £3.7m, Queenie has insisted on a pre-nup agreement to protect Harry's fortune.

That's how it works Fred, they deduct tax from you and spend it on worthy causes.
