Useful web sites for investors (INFO)

Tonker - 03 Jan 2007 16:18

Hi, I have started this thread so we can pool all of our knowledge together and list all the useful websites for investors. You must know what it is like when you are searching for something and all you get are these rubbish mass produced sites, which only make money on adverts, and then link you back to the site you was on a second ago!
I will list all of the pucker sites down at the start of this thread, with a brief description, and any cost involved .

http://www.kitcometals.com/ Metal Prices
http://www.ft.com/home/uk Top quality editorials
http://www.allipo.com/ Helpful information on new ipos but can be out of date! Looking for a better suggestion?
http://www.google.com/finance Great for finding out the new blogs, and/or mentions of companies
http://www.oilbarrel.com/home.html Useful for news on most oil exploration companies.
http://www.theonlinewire.com/ For the latest news on virtually all gambling. Need to use the search option to find the specific news required.
http://www.eog.com/ Eye on gambling, for the latest industry news
http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/
Proactiveinvestors.com was created by Ian Mclelland, a full time investor and keen believer in the power of networking to help make better investment decisions.

As an additional rolling newsfeed, I find http://www.newsnow.co.uk pretty useful (select Business & Finance section). It is possible to also narrow down to worldwide news per business sector (using left side menu), and to individual stock via searchbox.

It frequently includes stuff which doesn't appear on the more familiar newsfeed sites.

I also use the google news alerts facility, to recieve news alerts per individual stock
http://www.google.com/alerts This can be tailored better than some finance site alerts.

http://www.newsnow.co.uk is pretty cool... they do not do a rss feed though?

http://www.brokerlink.co.uk/ BrokerLink is a free information service providing investors with research and analysis on our UK quoted clients.

Tonker - is brokerlink still operating?
I can see nothing there dated later than April 2006
Some of what they describe as latest reports are dated 2005 looking back over 2004.

Sorry about that, it seems they have stopped producing reports.... I will email them as well, shame because those reports were really good
