In the US last night, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 56.7 points to 13,322.10
after data showed that the count of unsold homes hit a 16-year high in July. The
S&P 500 declined 12.6 points to 1,466.79 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite
lost 15.44 points to 2,561.25.

In Asia today, the Hang Seng ended the morning down 157.39 points at 23,420.34,
while the Nikkei was recently off 16.27 points at 16,285.12.

Crude oil for October delivery rose 12 cents to $72.09 a barrel, after adding 88
cents to $71.97 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange Monday.
