Alan retires at the end of this month so I wanted to be the first to thank him for all his exceptional work and guidance since we launched MoneyAM and for his help at ADVFN before that.
He has been the one person day in and day out including weekends that has been present on our Bulletin Boards starting the Traders and Weekend threads. He has also been busy behind the scenes writing numerous daily stories for the MoneyAM home pages and for our Stock Market Wire news service.
His calming influence on the Bulletin Boards, his wit and charm will be sorely missed. I know he won’t disappear completely from the BB’s as he will need to find a place solace away from all the lists of jobs his wife Pat has created for him !
Skinny has very kindly agreed to take over the Traders Threads, so a huge thank you to him.
So Alan, enjoy your second retirement but stay in touch with all your BB friends.
Mike

Happy retirement Alan, hope you're fit and well and can enjoy yourself. Was hoping we'd meet again at another trader's meet but they seem to have died out.
And also a big thanks to Skinny for taking over.

Well, this is an eye opener; I did not think that anyone was allowed to retire these days! Nice one Alan, I have been one of the mostly unseen followers who are in awe of your ability to get up so early in the morning to provide us with your invaluable thread contributions. Thank you, and enjoy your new found freedom. If you ever find a way to escape the tasks laid out ahead of you by Pat, please let me know, I could do with a few tips! :o)
Skinny! So you are an insomniac too! (Any time before 7am, whether by minutes or seconds is just too early!) Thanks for taking over from Alan, you already provide some pretty damned useful stuff!

Wow Alan I thought you would go on forever.
However, having done a short stint when Croc sadly left us I have a little understanding of the time and effort it takes.
I was too volatile and lazy to be right for the job, but your wise council and patience was perfectly suited and you shone through.
Good choice in Skinny who has a hard act to follow.
Give my best regards to Pat and maybe next time you are in the UK or I am in Spain a few drinks and talk about the good old days is needed?
Best Regards Martin

Very best wishes for a sunny retirement, Alan!
I recall the little investment club a few of us had in the early 2000's in the South-West area of England. Good pubs but sadly short-lived for two reasons:
1. Every member had to drive 100 miles from all directions for a meeting.
2. The investments were made in the period of time better known as "Post-TMT-era-when-all-shares-were-shorted-by-Dodddy-and-Bullshare".
Then you moved to Spain for some respite!
Happy hunting!

Just popped in to say good luck Alan and I wish you well in your retirement. Alan you are one of the most level headed guys that I have had the privilege to know. Sorry that I have not been around but my new enterprise has taken off big time. Regards to the Mrs!
