From the interims: Flintstones' investments include:

BioCote A range of anti-bacterial powder coatings for metal, wood and plastic
surfaces. This was sourced UK as it fitted Flintstone's portfolio.

Firestop A range of non-brominated and halogen free flame-retardants for use
with plastics, textiles, wood and metal.

Hardide Ltd is a company that has developed a chemical process for creating
super-hard tungsten carbide surfaces on steels and other surfaces. The process
can enhance the life of steel components by a factor of 10.

Intellikraft Next-generation rechargeable batteries based on nano treatment of
advanced ceramic material.

Keronite Process for creating hardened surfaces on aluminium, magnesium and
titanium.

Flintstone has sourced four further technologies. Like the existing portfolio,
these companies operate in the surface engineering and speciality chemicals
markets.

Biocote is based on the bacteria-killing properties of silver. There was a flotation indicated for the first half of 2003 but this does not seem to have transpired. However a private investor recently took a placing at 125p versus the 100p it is carried at in Flintstone's accounts.

There is something called the Ultra Motor which apparently is a regenerative DC motor of remarkable efficiency and lightness. Flintstone owns 80%.

It's been a long road for Flintstone and its investors. However in my belief it is quietly developing its portfolio companies, several of which are operational and doing business, and its efforts may be about to bear fruit.

EDIT: I do not have a breakdown of Flintstone shareholders. AXA has various holdings apparently as nominees, also something called Throgmorton Trust. The Oxford VCTs have holdings in several of the companies. It's intriguing that Flintstone has offices in UK, Moscow... and Cyprus. Those familiar with the Russian investment scene may care to ponder this last.

I bought this for value and am happy to hold. It started its AIM life at 34.5 barely a year ago. Seller out of the way if BB rumour is to be believed.

read the announcement on uk-wire.com and there was some interesting remarks regarding signing up a Russian aluminium group to one of the subs companies products and also potential tie up on their elecric motor vehicle with a large indian company. good potential in india if its a good company
