Is there speculation of some kind on this stock - I mean they all seem to be buys one aftrr another...??????

Dresdner Kleinwort also upgraded engineer Tomkins to "buy" from "add" on value grounds as it believes worries over the sustainability of the dividend in the face of weak US car and housing markets are overdone.

Assuming no earnings contribution from the building products arm, the dividend could still be maintained, DK suggests.

Had these years ago and keep looking occasionally, BAYLIS since your post No.7 the dollar has weakened further and housing is nowhere near picking up yet, it will but not just yet, and car parts will continue to suffer until the consumer has money to spend. I think a price of 147p ish will mark the low as it did several years ago. As always this is imo.

Currently around 127p a level not seen for years but still too soon to buy, imo, with the auto market becoming dire.

The Dollar will start to get stronger soon I hope.

DREAM DAY.U.K. engineering and manufacturing company Tomkins PLC (TOMK.LN) said Monday it has received a 325 pence a share, or GBP2.86 billion, cash bid approach from Canadian private equity firm Onex Corp. and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and, after considering the proposal terms, has allowed the bidders to carry out due diligence which is now at an advanced stage.
