ITIS holdings versus trafficmaster - what do you think ? (ITH)

daviesnc - 02 Mar 2004 23:27

I've heard,as we all have about the report commissioned by TFc, to the detriment of ITH, but the one shares mag recons that if the report is unfounded that TFc will "be swept aside" as itis will be able to provide information across the whole country, not just the 'A' roads and Motorways... i invite your comments

katcenka - 16 Nov 2005 23:05 - 8 of 40

heading to 20p, the income is not as much as everyone thought.

TFC is posing as a threat as insurance companies will incorporate the TFC black box for the pay as you drive, but the box is also serves as a satnav... remember 2003 peugeot was the first to award TFC a contract then all the others followed, next month citroen is fitting smartnav as standard, the insurance industry and the car manufacturers are going to compliment themselves... its all rather logical, so what will happen to pda satnavs and mobile phone satnav's... well sales will drop as people wont need them as there car will already have a satnav.. also the goverment now wants to bring in a law where mobiles and pda's are illegal to use while in a vehicle... what else is a + for TFC is the goverment wants to use the same system as Norwich Union for the road congestion charge...

so therefore my target for ITIS is now 20p or less... good op to open a short

new contract signed in the usa on friday... check this out

Looks like ITIS has signed the CFVD contract in Missouri on Friday:

http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/08/814.asp

Missouri Signs Statewide Cell Phone Spying Contract
The state of Missouri has signed a contract to monitor the location and speed of cell phone owners traveling on Missouri highways.

On Friday, the state of Missouri signed a $6.2 million contract with National Engineering Technology Corporation (NET) to track the movement of motorists on the state's 5500 mile network of major roads. NET and Canadian company Delcan NET are owned by the UK firm ITIS Holdings. The first test of the system could begin next week in Kansas City and St. Louis.

The high-tech spy network will track the movement and speed of individuals without their consent by "mining" data from cell phone companies that agree to provide full access to their infrastructure. The names of the companies involved have not been released. Wireless phone networks have been upgraded to comply with federal regulations so that 911 operators would know the exact location of a caller in an emergency. The NET system will operate any time a cell phone is turned on, whether a call is being made or not.

A similar monitoring program in Baltimore was funded primarily from federal money, including earmarks in the TEA-21 highway bill under the title "I-95 Corridor Coalition" and from the Department of Transportation ITS Joint Program Office.

"If you travel on a certain route every day, we'll eventually be able to give you alerts to see if an instance would keep you from getting to work on time," NET project manager Steven McDonald told the AP. "This has a lot of potential."

looks like 1 on the way

Come on katcenka, make your mind up. On 16 November you said we were heading towards 20p after I'd posted that the falls had been overdone. And now you're suggesting we're heading towards 1. I agree, the info above is excellent news and my leanings are higher rather than lower for the sp but is this your final stance?!

katcenka - 04 Dec 2005 14:01 - 11 of 40

happy for a quick profit on these, But i do think these are rediculously overpriced, but hey if the the market wants it to go up, fine by me

queen1 - 04 Dec 2005 21:38 - 12 of 40

Why "ridiculously overpriced"?

queen1 - 06 Dec 2005 10:03 - 13 of 40

More good news for ITH. Ridiculously overpriced? I don't think so.

ITIS Holdings plc ('ITIS' or the 'Company') announces today that it has received
notification from its US partner, Delcan NET, that an agreed form contract has
been approved by the Missouri Highways and Transportation commission. This is
to supply ITIS' Cellular Floating Vehicle Data to the Missouri Department of
Transportation on 5,400 miles of roadways.

The contract, covering a two year period, renewable annually thereafter is for a
total of US$6.2 million (3.6 million) and will be shared between ITIS and
Delcan NET. ITIS does not expect to recognise any revenues from the contract in
the current financial year (ending 31 March 2006).

katcenka - 06 Dec 2005 10:03 - 14 of 40

only 50% of the contract.. oh dear... but should see this clear 70p ;-)

katcenka - 06 Dec 2005 11:27 - 15 of 40

oh dear it dont look like it will even clear 64p let alone 70p

Kivver - 06 Dec 2005 11:39 - 16 of 40

Kat - When do you think the TFC chart will start going in an upward direction, you have given this one a lot of support recently but again confidence seems to be mis-placed.

katcenka - 06 Dec 2005 11:55 - 17 of 40

TFC will keep dropping until

1) directors buy shares
2) another standard fit contract is announced

queen1 - 06 Dec 2005 14:50 - 18 of 40

Katcenka - If you're going to keep de-ramping ITH it would be good to back it up with facts otherwise your obvious short position will not bear fruit. This is a strong business, heading in the right direction. Put up or shut up!

katcenka - 06 Dec 2005 18:22 - 19 of 40

2% rise, wow.. markets were really impressed with that news

queen1 - 06 Dec 2005 22:07 - 20 of 40

Now that's what I call facts to back up an argument kat. Well done you. I can't live with that strength of in-depth analysis and reasoned thinking. Perhaps I should sell my holding as soon as the markets open tomorrow. My hero.

katcenka - 06 Dec 2005 22:13 - 21 of 40

should they even of bothered marking it up

ateeq180 - 06 Dec 2005 22:17 - 22 of 40

Katcenta have you finished with bsp,or are you still in it,no posts since its fallen.

katcenka - 06 Dec 2005 22:28 - 23 of 40

sitting tight with it mate... next year, waiting for it to drop then will buy loads more

Kivver - 07 Dec 2005 10:23 - 24 of 40

oh no kat - not more bad luck, im sure it will all come good for you one day. But i must admit i and im sure many others will be keeping well away from your tips until we see some success.

queen1 - 09 Jan 2006 13:15 - 25 of 40

ITH been treading water recently around 60-65p but has broken down through that today, despite being a Shares Magazine tip for 2006. Anyone any ideas on when more contract news can be expected to bolster the sp again?

potatohead - 09 Jan 2006 13:34 - 26 of 40

been watching this for some time, my guess is people are dumping this and moved back over to TFC.. the share price is on the move upwards, and its got a lot further to go, ITH has reached peek value and can only drop further now..

will be looking to get in this once its price is corrected around the 30p mark

queen1 - 10 Jan 2006 10:55 - 27 of 40

I don't agree potatohead. On what basis has it reached peak value? It has outperformed TFC over the last 18 months which has been especially satisfying after TFC's research report trashed ITH's technology in favour of its own. It has secured a State contract in the US and there are 50 more of those potentially and car makers keep signing up.
