Tester needed: Streaming services tweak.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 30 Jul 2004 12:24

Hello,

I know there are a number of you that are not able to access our streaming information due to corperate firewalls.

We have just put in place some code which I hope will get round the problems caused by these firewalls.

If you have been unable to get streaming information from MoneyAM due to corperate firewalls and would be willing to test some stuff out of us, can you please post below.

Many thanks,
J.

Is that tweak or weak? :-)

STORMCALLER,

thanks for that output, ill ask felix to look at it and see if there is anything he can think of.

It is possible that your corperate filewall specifically blocks java applets which will not help anything, i shall get back to you. Thanks!

I get no response when clicking on an EPIC within my watch list. Clicking on "Trades" works Ok

If you have "a pop up" blocker installed it will stop the link working. I use google and to over ride the blocker I have to press the ctrl key before clicking clicking on an Epic.

Martini, I use Google pop up blocker and do not have to do any overiding, everything works perfectly. Did have some problems before I downloaded the latest Java packages. Also after that download my intersite connection speeds improved so much I feel I could be on broadband rather than dial up.

I thought the default setting blocks unless using ctrl key first with the option to override this by clicking the "blocked" button and allowing pop ups from the site specified.
Well thats how it works for me.

Martini,
That is also how I understand it to work. However I downloaded the Google toolbar with pop up stopper and have made no alterations to the settings. I access all intersite pages inc. streaming, of AM without any need to use control key etc. Just mentioning everything is working OK for me with Google pop up stopper installed as some users may feel that Google is causing a problem when in fact it may not be.

Ahh but if you load your stockwatch page and then click an epic does it pop up a new window with the relevant quote page for that epic? Which if I read Oakapples142 correctly was the problem described.

Martini,
No didn't open up page without use of control key, then OK.
Are we getting there?

Yes treats that as a pop up and blocks it.
M Phew :)

Mozilla Firefox (free browser)has a nice feature which lets you block popups but allows you to specify sites where you wish to allow them.
