So it's not only my advfn down ?

I must admit I am using a "MONEYAM competitor" less and less. The boards are increasingly full of trolls who spend most of their posting porno pics and crap jokes and no info about shares or stocks and the streaming service has become a joke. Somedays it works others not a hope. Service here seems to be working fine so I'm in no rush to get back.

How do you calculate yield if you work for ADVFN?

(Divi/Price)*100

as Div = 20 US cents...price from the LSE feed = 30 so yield = .66%...Eh??

or Divi for SLXX = 180p Price = 142 so yie1d = 80/142*100 = 127% a QUARTER...I'll have some of that!!
This is all Advfn premium data LOL!!

I have reported this rubbish 4 times and spoke to them yesterday to be asked if I knew which Advfn database they were getting the data from for these calcs

Noone was available at Advfn to discuss this and noone was available to call me back to discuss it

My guess...they know it is all rubbish

If you look at the info available for free on Yahoo US on the US
market including an excellent stock screener and then look at
what Advfn provide...there is no competition

I really don't care whether they have a live feed from Botswana...i want US and UK and I want them both working all the time.

The last "scheduled" emergency outage was at 1800 right in the middle of the US trading day - useless if you trade NYSE but very convenient for the trains in London

The people they have as invigilators must be total dolts. I was having a sensible conversation with a bloke over there about the madness of PC , re. a hospital which was banning the Gideon bible as it might harbour bedside viruses. I mentioned that the Koran, and the Jewish bible - and any other religious material was to get the same treatment,just for balance-I rec`d a message from " abuse" telling me I was guilty of racism,religious abuse and some other nondescript piece of PC crap, and the stuff they allow to be posted is beyond belief- hopeless.
