Talking of Ashpool

Ashpool moves into the black

Ashpool Telecom today unveiled a respectable set of full year numbers, turning an interim loss of 37,838 into a full year profit of 41,278 on revenues of 283,724. The dramatically improved performance arrived on the back of an upturn in equipment sales and the increased emphasis on the development of service and support revenues over the course of recent years. An upbeat full year statement, in which head honcho and major shareholder, Neil Newell told investors that he anticipated continued growth in revenue arising from services and support.

Ashpool said today that it anticipated a considerable proportion of its business would be related to Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) products and services. The noises being made by the company are interesting, as VoIP has long been the main factor that behind many investors involvement in the stock. Newell, who is a giant in his industry, is set to unveil further progress in VoIP, using Ashpool's expertise coupled with its existing Softcall and Codacall products and technology to address the demand, ramping up sales and profitability. On the marketing front, it is Ashpool's intention to actively seek sales and marketing partners for its technology. As part of this, the company is working on ways to increase awareness of its technology and capabilities, and to produce packages that can be sold through intermediaries.

Of its investments, Command TV has performed satisfactorily over the past year, having obtained a level of funding sufficient to meet its short-to-medium term needs and having successfully provided services to popular TV shows including the X Factor series and Quizmania. Ashpool continues to both work with and provide technical service to them, and hopes to see significant growth in the company over the coming year. Meanwhile, Click Solutions.net has also recently obtained additional business, at a modest level but anticipated to provide sufficient revenues to meet costs over the coming year.

The bottom line is that prospects are very positive, but, in Neil Newell's own words, "hard work will be required to achieve growth over the coming year". At 9p, this is a company capitalised at just 610,000. It is speculative, but assuming the company can continue to deliver the kind of profits growth unveiled today, then the shares are cheap. "Speculative buy".

Note yesterday evening from Monisha of UQ analyst....

A private placing at 70p by the telecoms software group, Vicorp, has raised 595,000 for working capital. The fundraising follows an announcement yesterday of a sizeable contract win with GE Capital for 140 of its xMP units. The Service Creation Software was tailored for GE and will be installed in its offices in Norway and Denmark. The contract may not be worth millions but it is certainly a foot in the door of a large organisation which could easily choose to roll out Vicorp's solution elsewhere within the group.

Vicorp has two keystone products: xMP and Narrator. Both are keyed towards automating call centre processes and allow users to pre-program an automated customer helpline. The software is highly intuitive and accessible to business of all sizes: small companies may opt for an off-the-shelf version while larger firms can spend more on a peronalised product. The software is unmatched in the market and relieves the IT department of having to create in-house systems from scratch.

Having joined Ofex at the end of 2004, Vicorp has gained the attention of the major software giants. Nortel, Cisco and Microsoft have all become partners in outsourcing deals. They will also market xMP and Narrator through their own extensive distribution channels, forming a significant part of Vicorp's sales strategy.

During calendar 2005 the business generated revenues of 1.34 million and losses of 1.96 million. Trading this year is in line with budget and we expect it to Vicorp profitability in Q4 2006. With ambitious growth targets, Vicorp has set its sights on AIM and should make the move before the year is out. A further related fundraising would assist its sales efforts. After a period of development, Vicorp now has an established portfolio of products and is ready to pitch itself in a market calling out for its software. What is more, it will offer back up services which will further enhance revenues. The shares trade at 52.5p, valuing the company at 4.6 million (ex today's fresh equity). It is unusual for us to be backing a company sustaining heavy losses but the early stage nature of the company justifies this and this year's trading is rapidly making up for the deficit. Vicorp has some excellent products which it can now capitalise on. The idea that it could achieve profits heading towards the 7 figure mark within two years is far from implausible and as such today's valuation has its attractions. Speculative Buy.

Vicorp wins new contract in Thailand

Vicorp, a provider of service creation software has announced its latest contract win in Thailand. Advanced Info Service, a mobile network service in the country has chosen Vicorp's xMP service software to provide voice mail and interactive speech services to its customers. AIS is an affiliate of Shin Corporation and claims to be a leader in mobile innovation services.

Vicorp joined Ofex in 2004 and has since gained the attention of major software giants like Nortel, Cisco and Microsoft, all of whom have chosen to become partners in outsourcing deals. In the year to December 2005, the group recorded revenues of 1.34 million and losses of 1.96 million. Trading in the current year is said to be in line with budgets and the group is expected to break even in 2006.

In July the group raised 595,000 to provide additional working capital. Vicorp is expecting to make a move to AIM by the year end, it owns an established portfolio of products and is set to offer additional services which should push revenues even higher. As we've said before, we rarely back a consistently loss making company but Vicorp is showing signs of promise. At 55p, capitalised at 5.11 million, the shares are a speculative buy.

Contract - Faber Lotto-Service KG

London, 10th August 2006:

Vicorp, the leading provider of Service Creation Software technologies, today announced that FABER Lotto-Service KG, one of the largest Lottery operators in Germany, has selected Vicorp's xMP Service Creation Environment software to provide and drive a telephone based gaming system.

The concept of moving to a Service Creation Environment (SCE) with Vicorp's xMP tool allows Faber Lotto-Service KG to rapidly develop and dynamically manipulate new services to any of Faber's 22 million customers and to play games on the move over the phone. There needs to be a stimulation of the types of games with a continued exchange of options for Faber's customers to keep their interest. The decision to work within a SCE environment drives this activity.

Vicorp's xMP suite allows major organisations to quickly create, deploy and manage a range of high-quality voice self-services. Core services can be built once but deployed many times. Any single service can be configured to support multiple brands, thus reducing cost and time-to-market for automated services.

Automated voice services free up time on routine transactions and allow customer service staff to spend more time handling complex interactions directly with customers.

Brendan Treacy, Vicorp's CEO said: " The market for online gaming is in rapid growth, according to some analysts this market is set to double over the next 4 years. Forward thinking companies such as FABER are cashing in on the fact that more consumers have access to a mobile phone than the Internet and by providing fun interactive games over the phone they can maximise on a relatively untapped channel".

The Directors accept responsibility for the contents of this announcement.
