The dow reached 9360 on the daily and 9327 dec.The above was just rthe brief levels that i got when i was browsing the www.sixer.com site which gave some useful information like
the bulls were5% and bears 95% for the dow tradingetc. Look at the site i think u will ilke it.
I closed some shorts nand am waiting now to reap some longs out and take the harvests in while the going is good.

Jules are you trading the daily indedx on th dow or the future dates.??
good trading - I am sure you will get the 9350 mark.

Trading Dow Index is all new to me..trading an index, this is the firts time just to test the water...I probably have heaps to learn..in the money as I write...:-)

The dow futures...wouldn't know where to start on that...

My longs are small potatoes but 5 to 10 points at present...

I read your mails and thought I'd give it a shot, some time...and so I did...

DOW at 9372 as I write, which equates to 500 quid...!

what shall I do cash in and go away for a walk or place a stop loss?

The dow managed to scalp both on the longs and shorts yesterday(29/9/2003).So what are we going to do today. I think it is going to head south. On my browing i found the www.sixer.com site quoting a high %ctage of bulls on the dow for today.What are your opinions???

Ps: jules99 - welldone on the dow yesterday, I was pretty certain you would get past the 9350 mark.

Levels to watch for in Tuesdays trading:


Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDU) support at 9200; resistance at 9758


S&P 500 (SPX) support at 995; resistance at 1050


Nasdaq Composite (COMP) support at 1780; resistance at 1950

I hope u are all shorting like mad and not in the longs at present. What a nosedive. I had 2 shorts and collected 114pts at 15/pt and 80pts at 12/pt. Now I am just looking at the screen and anaestehetised myself with my best freinds Chivas And Haigh.

I have gone long at 9195 Dec Dow at 15/pt and it is at 9246 as i write at gmt 16.42 (14.00 eastern time usa 2pm) and i think it is going to have a lot more upside and am waiting.

Jules Are you Trading the Daily Dow WHich Expires at end of day trade (9pm), which can be costly at times when the market is uncertain.
You can trade the following month eg#: october november or december and hence giving more time for the trade to mature in case it doesnot happen on the day you can carry on.

Hi everybody,
Just closed the long from yesterday and taken out some shorts. I think shall fulfill both before the day is out as we had quite a down slide yesterday. Also this is the end of the 3rd qtr and beginning of the 4th qtr so be careful with your trades and watch the stoplosses etc. Generally if Sept was a good month then Oct seems to be a downer especialy in the opening weeks. So my personal scheme is Shorts will be the main operatives.

Yep its going to hit turbulence and then take a hike south - If on the otherhand it goes through that level than its a different ball game altogether.

I've 2 shorts in place now and another if it hits 4020...if worse happens It should still hit 9360 at some point in profit take , perhaps not today...yikes...

Megs...u a sb or cfd trader on equities?

It's fun when ur winning and probably Ouch when ur on the other end....playing small potatoes at the moment, like everything I need to know a strategy, was wondering can you go long ans short on the DOW at the same time...i.e long at 4300 and short at 4400 and have them both open at the same time??

I have a short sell at 4020 if it hits it ...went to 4011...and then back down....last hour could see some profit taking...

Looked at Lgen and also RSA...but decided to go for ARM and Colt for quickie up on reuters from 1.14 so far...Colt and ARM should give 5 -10% by end of week...

I take both long and short positions on the dow many times and u should be able to do it.Also bear in mind the trade day range eg: -100 to say +100 ffor argument sake then you can take both long and short at say zero (+/- few points either side) and take gains on both trades. I usually put them at equal value eg 5/pt.

How do activate The email-sorry a bit docile at the moment... Just noticed my 4020 has been triggered...oops!!!

CMC confirmed has been triggered to short$10-point...

Now I pray it goes down...by 60points....or more, saying that I'd be plsed to see it finish nr 9370...

cmc also said you cannot long and short on same index, but only if you open 2 seperate a/c's...

Zarif who are you SB with, they allow this????
