LONDON (AFX) - Provexis PLC said it has entered into a long-term collaboration agreement with Unilever PLC to jointly develop a new concentrated format of its patented Fruitflow heart-health technology for application in Unilever's food product portfolio.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The partners plan to enter into a global licence arrangement for the technology.
Fruitflow is a patented natural extract from tomato which Provexis said has been shown in human trials to reduce the propensity for aberrant blood clotting that is typically associated with cardiovascular disease and which can lead to heart attack or stroke.
In 2005 the market for heart benefit foods was worth 4 bln usd globally, Provexis added.
Considering the growth potential this share has a target of about 8-10p in the medium tern and is a good buy at current levels
As usual, pls do ur own research.

at least i had the sense not to stick my neck out for 150k which was my original holding at its peak! ..... confess i thought the EU rubbish would take an awful lot longer, but it does indeed seem to be relatively imminent

I think that if you look at a 18mnth view, then this stock is so volatile that unless anything drastic happens, if you buy at a relatively low price, at some point you'll make a nice little earner.
Tis not panicking and just being patient and waiting is the key.

Coke develops blood thinning product
- Published: 30 June, 2009

Coca-Cola is developing a product containing Fruitflow: a tomato extract that is claimed to reduce the risk of blood clots, which can trigger heart attacks and strokes.
Fruitflow has an advantage over many other 'functional' ingredients in that it has secured a coveted positive opinion from the European Food Safety Authority for its health claims.
Provexis, the firm behind Fruitflow, said: "We continue to explore with Coca-Cola the development of a product for one of its major markets."
It was also in discussions with a "major dairy brand owner" about using Fruitflow in other products after a tie-up with Unilever on spreads ground to a halt, said the firm. "A re-prioritisation of Unilever's innovation pipeline, together with our own initiatives in mini-drinks, has resulted in collaborative work being halted."
Finally, it is also in talks with a global ingredients manufacturer over licensing rights for Fruitflow in food, drink and dietary supplement applications.
