Overcooked gloom makes Centrica good long-term play: Centrica was the worst-performing utility group in terms of...

optomistic - 26 Jan 2012 09:42 - 87 of 682

Thanks TANKER but got a bad cold....it's the bl**dy cold up here!

TANKER - 26 Jan 2012 10:01 - 88 of 682

op . buy local honey and a spoon full a day .
and then go to holland and barrett and buy zinc take
one ever day cost about 400p a year no more colds .

HARRYCAT - 26 Jan 2012 10:22 - 89 of 682

And end up with diabetes and zinc related toxicity problems!
"Taking zinc syrup, tablets or lozenges can lessen the severity and duration of the common cold, experts believe.

A review of the available scientific evidence suggests taking zinc within a day of the onset of cold symptoms speeds recovery.

It may also help ward off colds, say the authors of the Cochrane Systematic Review that included data from 15 trials involving 1,360 people.

But they say zinc cannot be used long-term because of toxicity concerns.

Excessive amounts can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhoea."

harry i have taken one ever day since i was 10 now 64 and fit as a 30year old
the body needs zinc llok again

HARRYCAT - 26 Jan 2012 10:36 - 91 of 682

A balanced diet and regular exercise is all that's needed for most healthy individuals. Supplements just get discharged in the normal way and a complete waste of money, imo. Also, there is nothing wrong in the body having to occasionally combat virus's and germs. Your healthy diet & exercise lifestyle should cope with them.

TANKER - 26 Jan 2012 11:00 - 92 of 682

harry i do agree with you but not all people can get exercise .
myself i am fit but my mother said take zinc she died at 92 and
she died by going into hospital . avoid hospitals if you can

skinny - 26 Jan 2012 11:05 - 93 of 682

"avoid hospitals if you can" - good advice :-)

optomistic - 26 Jan 2012 11:06 - 94 of 682

....healthy debate :-)
I do take Omega 3 and multivitamins, buy mine from Healthspan Guernsey...oh garlic as well, had no trouble with vampires for years ;-)

Back to Centrica, sp firming recently, always good to see (except for the shorting community)

TANKER - 26 Jan 2012 11:10 - 95 of 682

op div is good but profit margins are going to be poor due to the weather ,
good luck

skinny - 26 Jan 2012 11:23 - 96 of 682

As mentioned earlier, I've been looking for sub 280 for a while - now looks like I'll be waiting a while longer!

Opto - apparently a rub down with a bad woman is good for your health - still waiting for one of those also!

TANKER - 26 Jan 2012 11:26 - 97 of 682
