THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Not necessarily according to C&C if/when Italy renege on their debt many currencies will suffer including the £.

the burka, its use is is not english , also have a wrong effect on others p sycic.
do not underestimate, the burka & its power.

2517,

My guesses are, the foreseen problems are :

(Approximates)

UK has 13% of EU Population

UK's GDP 7.4% of "Total" EU GDP

GDP growth is low compared to EU as a whole.

UK is 1 country within 27/28.

Movement of goods is likely to be impeded. (They are already geographically to some extent but the problem is not likely to be diminished, by borders.)

The currency "exchange" has "hidden" costs.

I would think the outlook and the sterling currency pushes it down the security table.

2517GEORGE - 08 Aug 2018 15:55 - 81075 of 81564

Which serves to emphasise the importance of the UK as a buyer from, as opposed to a seller, to the EU

2517GEORGE - 08 Aug 2018 15:59 - 81076 of 81564

There are 27 countries within the EU who are going to have a big problem unless the unelected bureauprats soften their stance.

Fred1new - 08 Aug 2018 16:43 - 81077 of 81564

Dilute the individual country's imports by 27 compared with UK's exports.

Rough and ready comparison of relative problems.

I think Ruth Davidson is way off the mark in comparing the Burka to the wearing of a Christian crucifix

When May comes back with an offer of "The Jersey Deal" she will be the one getting her P45 from the Party and the Public.

I assume you all know what "The Jersey Deal" is?

A good looking bunch.

Dilute the individual country's imports by 27 compared with UK's exports.

...

You don't have to affect 27 countries, just the right ones.

Cheers,

Theresa May just has to go, I think, and the sooner the better.

Unfortunately for me, although I do totally agree with Boris' burka article (ie. we don't need a law in the UK to prevent them being worn - but, when they are worn, the wearer looks like 'a letterbox' or 'a bank robber', etc) I cannot give him my support to be the next Conservative Leader/Prime Minister.

I think JRM just has to be the man for the job, albeit that he probably doesn't want to do the job for the moment and probably feels, "maybe later - in a few more years' time).

Anyone else think, that Boris is now on the political war path?

Fred1new - 13 Aug 2018 14:51 - 81089 of 81564

Who in the UK politics today who has the ability to deal with the mess that the UK is in regarding the Brexit debacle as well as the economic and international political mess which the tory party period of misrule has created.

Boris is frequently equivalent to a loud-mouthed lout and is being deliberately provocative in order to serve his present wishes.

As far as the facial masking is concerned, each to their own, but I think the 2 problems I see is that the "Burka" or "Niqab" is that they may be used for criminal purposes to use avoiding recognition in public places.

Also, I personally think it crazy to use dark restrictive clothing in "hot climates" and I feel sorry for some who are "forced" to do so.

(I seem to notice many me seem to wear white equivalents.)

(PS. When I was doing "mucky" jobs I often used a mask to avoid inhalation,)

cynic - 13 Aug 2018 15:05 - 81090 of 81564

a large proportion of women in mediterranean countries also traditionally wear black

international political mess which the tory party period of misrule has created ........ is just the typical fred slur which, like the pavlovian dog, he just cannot prevent spewing forth

the first part of his post is however, very true, but then the whole country as well as parliament is split pretty much down the middle as to what deal should be struck on brexit ...... the country made its bed, and so must lie on it, whatever the outcome

as for next tory leader, tom tugenhat may be worth considering
