Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

2517,
My guesses are, the foreseen problems are :
(Approximates)
UK has 13% of EU Population
UK's GDP 7.4% of "Total" EU GDP
GDP growth is low compared to EU as a whole.
UK is 1 country within 27/28.
Movement of goods is likely to be impeded. (They are already geographically to some extent but the problem is not likely to be diminished, by borders.)
The currency "exchange" has "hidden" costs.
I would think the outlook and the sterling currency pushes it down the security table.

Which serves to emphasise the importance of the UK as a buyer from, as opposed to a seller, to the EU

There are 27 countries within the EU who are going to have a big problem unless the unelected bureauprats soften their stance.

Dilute the individual country's imports by 27 compared with UK's exports.
Rough and ready comparison of relative problems.

I think Ruth Davidson is way off the mark in comparing the Burka to the wearing of a Christian crucifix

When May comes back with an offer of "The Jersey Deal" she will be the one getting her P45 from the Party and the Public.
I assume you all know what "The Jersey Deal" is?

...
You don't have to affect 27 countries, just the right ones.

Who in the UK politics today who has the ability to deal with the mess that the UK is in regarding the Brexit debacle as well as the economic and international political mess which the tory party period of misrule has created.
Boris is frequently equivalent to a loud-mouthed lout and is being deliberately provocative in order to serve his present wishes.
As far as the facial masking is concerned, each to their own, but I think the 2 problems I see is that the "Burka" or "Niqab" is that they may be used for criminal purposes to use avoiding recognition in public places.
Also, I personally think it crazy to use dark restrictive clothing in "hot climates" and I feel sorry for some who are "forced" to do so.
(I seem to notice many me seem to wear white equivalents.)
(PS. When I was doing "mucky" jobs I often used a mask to avoid inhalation,)

a large proportion of women in mediterranean countries also traditionally wear black
international political mess which the tory party period of misrule has created ........ is just the typical fred slur which, like the pavlovian dog, he just cannot prevent spewing forth
the first part of his post is however, very true, but then the whole country as well as parliament is split pretty much down the middle as to what deal should be struck on brexit ...... the country made its bed, and so must lie on it, whatever the outcome
as for next tory leader, tom tugenhat may be worth considering

"There are none so blind as those who don't wish to see."
Why do I often think of this phrase when I read a post by Cynical Manuel.
The present bunch have been in "power" approximately 10 years and administer a disastrous failure in the economy, foreign policies, welfare, and infrastructures of the UK.
The last 10 years has shown the present tory leadership and elite to be self-interested be incompetent and unfit to govern.
The responsibility for the present "Brexit" fiasco is down to Cameron, Osborne and camp followers.
In my opinion, and that of others, the present tory cabal hasn't got the courage or honesty to admit their mistakes, and prefer to ruin the country in an attempt to save their own faces and then turn around and blame the ill-informed general public for the
way they voted in a "falsely" drawn up and advertised referendum.
But, Manuel I can understand why you might choose Boris to represent you and turn the UK with the standards of a Banana Republic.

oh do get back in your box fred
it would be at least as true to say, and arguably more so, that if that limp lettuce corbyn had truly represented the wishes of his party by banging the drum to "remain", then that might well have been the outcome

Manuel.
PS
Why do some Muslim women wear burkas?
The Koran calls for both men and women to 'cover and be modest'.
As with many other religious scriptures, the reference to dress is open to interpretation and has been shaped by centuries of cultures in different nations.
"The Koran does not explicitly say you have to cover yourself in this manner," Dr Ismail said.
"Some scholars argue that it is a religious obligation, particularly the more conservative factions within the Muslim world. There are many variations and interpretations."
Dr Ismail is a Muslim and has been wearing her hijab since she was a child.
"I'm so comfortable wearing it that I can't imagine myself without it. I wear it for cultural reasons, but there are many women who wear it for religious reasons."
