THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

because he had the temerity to be a constant and vocal critic of the house of saud

in the end, and like it or not, the juicy carrot for the americans (and brits?) of an arms deal worth $110bn will not be jeopardised
as i wrote yesterday, welcome to the world of realpolitik

Fred1new - 24 Oct 2018 13:47 - 81269 of 81564

Manuel.

You seem to support "realpolitiks".

Do you?
"
What is your definition of "realpolitik"?

Tread carefully when you are abroad.

Ps

When somebody repeats the same "statement or phrase" too frequently when trying to sell me something I generally begin to question why. Also, I begin to think of them as limited.

Theresa May's repeating of "A country that works for everyone’" strikes me as fraudulent and she resembles a charlatan flogging dodgy goods.

Mind she is a suitable leader of her party.

Referring to some of your previous postings, do you ever consider yourself overpaid or you just contented to overvalue yourself?

Hi,
On Twitter Sharepickers told me about Initiative Q . If you think it a good idea please paste in my link below, I have 5 invites ..if you don't then I'd love your opinion. Thanks

This is a new currency and payment network built by ex-PayPal guys, called Initiative Q. The Q currency is currently being allocated for free if you are invited by an existing member.
The idea is that if millions of people join, Q could become a leading payment network, and, according to well-known economic models, that means the value of the reward would be around $130,000.
The amount you reserve decreases every day, and each member has a limited number of invites. You can use my invite link here: https://initiativeq.com/invite/S-WQVgkn7

Thanks Dy but it sounds like another pyramid type selling system to me.

Dynamite - 25 Oct 2018 12:23 - 81272 of 81564

Stan I first thought that. Then I thought what a great way of getting payment system started. Only if people know about it will they use it. They have long term goals of a new payment method being used across the world in a couple of years.

Was Lord Hain out of order?

https://www.bailiwickexpress.com/jsy/news/watch-jersey-resident-billionaire-responds-metoo-allegations/#.W9Lu5ZNKiUk

They say he is a Jersey resident - does he only spend 90 days a year out of his residence, as I understand that is the terms of being allowed to claim against being taxed elsewhere.

cynic - 26 Oct 2018 11:59 - 81274 of 81564

Lord Hain did everyone a favour

Philip Green is a snake and a slimeball of the first order, and I am ashamed that he is one of my brethren

I thought he was a resident of Monaco, but no matter, for he has passed all his UK assets to his wife, and any dividends get paid to her as well
In this way (and others) Philip Green escapes all the restrictions of only spending 90 days in UK

It would be no more than poetic justice if Philip Green's wife says she's had enough and escapes with all the dosh

Clocktower - 26 Oct 2018 12:17 - 81275 of 81564

Your are harsh on a fellow brethren cynic.

Like Trump you know where you stand with him unlike many other brethren members.

His days of slap and tickel might be over but just like many things of the past, they were par for the course - in the same way as they used the cane at one school I attended, along with the slipper, and a leather belt.

Did it leave some kids with mental scars - Yes I guess it did but so does war.

cynic - 26 Oct 2018 14:36 - 81276 of 81564

green is a total shit

Stan - 26 Oct 2018 14:55 - 81277 of 81564

Tut tut..Swearing alert by Alf Dee!😀

cynic - 26 Oct 2018 15:04 - 81278 of 81564

indeed - i was too complimentary

Stan - 26 Oct 2018 15:14 - 81279 of 81564

I agree and can we stop calling him Sir as it only degrades the dong.

Stan - 26 Oct 2018 15:25 - 81280 of 81564

4 offshore tax avoiders/invaders caught in the same picture?

cynic - 26 Oct 2018 15:35 - 81281 of 81564

green's wife is so almost by default, but who are the other 2?
i guess lewis hamilton is one, but the other?

Stan - 26 Oct 2018 15:48 - 81282 of 81564

The slapper on the left is Green’s offspring apparently.

ExecLine - 26 Oct 2018 15:50 - 81283 of 81564

Apparently, Peter Hain is a paid adviser to Gordon Dadds, the law firm who are representing The Telegraph in their fight to overturn Philip Green’s injunctions.

So that's nice. Tee hee hee.

Stan - 26 Oct 2018 16:14 - 81284 of 81564

The only person in the dock is the low life Green E/L.

Clocktower - 26 Oct 2018 16:16 - 81285 of 81564

The Country and that includes the last Labour Government could have put a stop to tax avoidence if they wished but have never done so, as it is part and parcel of the system.

Take Jersey hiding beneficicial ownership for example:

https://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2018/10/25/jersey-funnelling-global-dirty-money-claims-mp/

https://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2018/10/26/external-relations-minister-lodges-business-activity-law/

All just noise!!

They are just picking on Green - as its payback time and sells papers.

What has TM said about the Saudi killing of Khashoggi - what will the UK do about selling them arms?

It is all noise!!

iturama - 26 Oct 2018 16:23 - 81286 of 81564

It is hardly tax avoidance if you live and work outside of the country ala Lewis Hamilton, possibly the best racing driver ever from this country. He has every right to protect what he earns.

Clocktower - 26 Oct 2018 16:39 - 81287 of 81564

So has everyone else, as long as it legal iturama. All this moral stuff and picking on a few only to hide what is in full view. What is good for the Goose is good for the Gander.
