How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Start of the game, Fed on his own serve was 1.06/1.07, hes now at 1.12/1.13 for this game

bakko - 25 Jan 2006 10:10 - 8131 of 10502

Last game was more like the Fed we know

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 10:11 - 8132 of 10502

Having a break from trading and just watching for a bit - got a nice profit and too much uncertainty at the mo

Scripophilist - 25 Jan 2006 10:11 - 8133 of 10502

Shall I green up or let it run? LOL!

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 10:12 - 8134 of 10502

Scrip

depends whether youve got a decent reserve of red wine lol

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 10:38 - 8135 of 10502

Federer now 1,17/1.18 on his owqn service game

Davydenko really causing him some probs here

bakko - 25 Jan 2006 10:41 - 8136 of 10502

Just scalped a few on Feds last 2 service games

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 10:46 - 8137 of 10502

Awesome from Davydenko - breaks Fed again and now serves for the set

Schiff - you should be a happy bunny at the mo

Scripophilist - 25 Jan 2006 10:47 - 8138 of 10502

Looking good!

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 10:49 - 8139 of 10502

Scrip

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 10:50 - 8140 of 10502

How on earth did Fed win that point

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 10:51 - 8141 of 10502

And Fed breaks back lol

bakko - 25 Jan 2006 10:53 - 8142 of 10502

Massive opportunity missed by Davy

Schiff...Time to green up! LOL

Scripophilist - 25 Jan 2006 10:58 - 8143 of 10502

I'm all green, didn't manage it at 1.50 but at 1.30, pretty happy with that. Will trade in and out now with the cash.

I wonder how long this delay is? Odds seem to move well before I see the action.

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 11:07 - 8144 of 10502

Awesome hold from Federer

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 11:16 - 8145 of 10502

Fed saves 3 more set points - 5 in total so far this set

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 11:19 - 8146 of 10502

Davydenko missed 6 set points then serves a double fault on Feds first - ouch!

schiff - 25 Jan 2006 11:47 - 8147 of 10502

Ashamed to say I didn't green up - Fed was 1.43 at one time.

He's just done my nerves in this morning. Time after time after time he escapes by the skin of his teeth at the last second. It's got to the stage I feel he'd get out from any situation.

He keeps showing how vulnerable he can be, then comes out of it. It shows his class I suppose.

It's good value excitement, tension, dismay - all for 2! Mountain to climb for poor old Denko now, so very near but so finally far.

bakko - 25 Jan 2006 11:54 - 8148 of 10502

Nipped out for 30 mins and now see that Fed is cruising (not quite) so just greened up.
