Police have a new secret weapon, a huge speed camera capable of filming people up to a thousand metres away.

Dubbed “The Long Ranger”, the massive speed gun will launch as part of a pilot project called Operation Indemnis, and will be deployed to catch motoring offences such as speeding and tailgating. ”We now have a chance to test a new model of collaborative road policing which, if it proves a success, can be put into practice elsewhere.”

Technology up to now has been used to detect how fast drivers are going, but the new camera produces clear video footage as well as photos clear enough to see who, exactly, is behind the wheel too.

I cannot support F1 holding the forthcoming race this weekend in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

I'm not exactly sure who who write to about this and it is because of my disgust for what has today happened to Matthew Hodges who has been handed a sentence of Life Imprisonment by the UAE for spying for the British Government. Ha Ha!

I thought these people were our friends and allies. Clearly NOT!

Matthew Hodge was not even allowed proper legal representation and his court sentencing case lasted only circa 5 minutes.

Prior to this he has been incarcerated in solitary confinement for circa 6 weeks during which time he was interrogated without a lawyer and consular access was unavailable. During this time he was made to sign a document in Arabic which has transpired to be a confession. Matthew does not even speak or even read Arabic.

If this is how the authorities in the UAE act and so stupidly and aggressively and charge and hold people and perform their legal prosecution cases, whilst not allowing defendants proper legal representation or the use of an interpreter, then God help our Drivers, Mechanics and Supporters and anyone else involved with the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix this weekend. They are in potentially grave risk.

As much as I love everything connected with F1, I absolutely think this race should be scrapped as a protest for what has happened to Matthew Hodges!
