Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Hmmm?
Drivers could be fined £1,000 for letting ambulances and police cars pass
Group Reporter Published: 12:25 pm November 30, 2018

Emergency vehicles have right of way when they are flashing their lights, meaning drivers must move out of their way. But, this does not mean that you will automatically avoid a hefty fine if you break one of the rules of the road while doing so.
Drivers who go through a bus lane or a red light while letting an emergency vehicle pass can still be penalised.
Cars need to move out of the way of emergency vehicles in the correct way if they want to avoid a fine.
How to make sure you don’t get fined
The Highway Code states, “You should look and listen for ambulances, fire engines, police, doctors or other emergency vehicles using flashing blue, red or green lights and sirens, or flashing headlights, or traffic officer and incident support vehicles using flashing amber lights.
“When one approaches do not panic. Consider the route of such a vehicle and take appropriate action to let it pass, while complying with all traffic signs. If necessary, pull to the side of the road and stop, but try to avoid stopping before the brow of a hill, a bend or narrow section of road.”
Police advise that motorists should never stop in a fast lane of traffic.
The code adds that you should not endanger yourself, other road users or pedestrians and avoid mounting the kerb.
Also, avoid breaking harshly on the approach to a junction or roundabout in case the car behind has not seen the emergency vehicle. If you’re snapped running a red light to make way for an emergency vehicle then this could land you with a penalty of up to £1,000 and six penalty points.

EL - Your Post of 30 Nov 2018 14:23 - 81352.
TM response yesterday in the House was nothing more than flannel - rather than saying enough is enough and ensuring the witch-hunt stops right now.
Tony Blair has more to answer for than the weapons of mass destruction.
Shame on the present UK Gov.

Then you will have to rely on a Dad's Army.
What was it like when you were a member of it?

Stan it was Tony B that gave the IRA free passes but failed to honour our brave soldiers and give them the same treatment, not that it excuses the following PM`s.
They are all a disgrace when it comes to supporting the forces.

I have amended the post and I apologize for my error Stan but I must have mistakenly assumed from your post 81357 that you were a supporter of the Left Wing.

How sad.
Bloodhound's 1000mph land-speed record bid has had to be scrapped after the owner/management firm's collapse.
Administrators say they have been unable to secure new investors to take forward the UK-led record attempt.
There is such a lot of uncertainty around the place. The UK really does urgently need some INSPIRATIONAL LEADERSHIP to inject a ton of confidence into our atmosphere.
