i did not exactly forecast a drop to 400 and certainly not in a straight line ..... however, insofar as charts have value, especially with such recent companies as this, i said that the below 470(?) the next support did not kick in until 400

I appreciate you expressed an opinion, Cynic, not a prediction.
I realise your Guru status is still in it's infancy & therefore fallible. :o)
Solar wafers are off the menu now until after easter. This is where I boost the profits of Cadbury's, & possibly WMH with the boat race, F1, Boxing & the footy!!!

Harry ..... thanks for the promotion! ..... i have never set myself up as a guru, but merely a poor purveyor of occasional common sense and amateur reader of the entrails before they are splattered all over the ground.

Well, Ambrian have revised their price target to 455p.
Also, I hear SCSW has said take profits in both RCG and SOLA today, so you may find some pressure on the price come Tuesday open.

glad to hear it soul* ..... if sp comes back to 400, certain people should be eating humble pie in the corner (unlikely though it is a racing cert they will go very quiet indeed), and i may just be tempted back in

My son is a 27 yr old officer in the Army leaving in Nov--07 and wants to go into the City. He needs to find out more about specific areas such as broking or trading so he can target his job hunting efforts. Can anyone help a bright and ambitious young man with a shadow day or advice? sorry o/t

Interesting looking chart from a short perspective, broken strong support at 480, not much at 440, 400 is the level to keep an eye on, falls through there, may well go as low as 240. Quite a good case for a head and shoulders pattern, although slightly skewed. One to keep an eye on.

I don't short very often Cynic, but from a TA perspective this stock might be a really good opportunity. Certainly think 400p is on the cards, so will cogitate whether to open a position. Can't believe anyone snipes at you anyway ;)

oh there are a couple who decry my views of common sense and/or possible sp moves .... i don't name names but no doubt said person will have his little prattle here in due course!
though i too think sp could well hit 400, am not strongly enough convinced to go short ... or at least not yet!

and for those who (totally wrongly) claim i deramp, especially SOLA, i just had a look back at page 1 of this thread which takes us back to August last year ..... "I am persuaded though not without a little trepidation .... done at 153" ...... since when i have traded this stock very profitably and never on a short a tack!

can't find my original charts, so here's a new one ..... sp has not only fallen sharply through 50 dma but, having tracked 25 dma for a little while, has now fallen sharply downwards from there too ..... even pushing through the bottom of the Bollinger Bands, though those are not something i usually follow .... at least rsi is now heading towards oversold
red = 25 dma
green = 50 dma

I wouldnt sell or buy this stock until results which lets not forget were put back from the 16th of April to the 23rd of April are released.
Cash flow was certainly looking to be a problem at the 3 1/4 tr stage with a net cash outflow on day to day operating activities.
Inventory was also piling up and it will be very interesting to see the number of debtor days.
I dont think its any coincidence that the company have had to return to the market for further funding plus making enquiries with banks over further borrowing.

H98,
we can only go on what we have to date and although the Bond issue seems to have been a success one wonders if the management are able to control the phenominal rate at which this company is growing?.
I ask you to take a look at the 3rd 1/4tr cash flow report.
I hope there is improvements on results day.

GF, I found the points you raised interesting - so much so that I went and dug out my old accounting textbookx to make sure I understood the arguments correctly, whilst also looking at the quarterly results.
My contention is that you have to spend money in order to increase capacity and, while the co indeed saw an increase in stocks, for the first time the amount of cash tied up in stock was less than the quarterly turnover rather than greater.
If SOLA continues to sell everything it produces, and the market remains firm, then it ought still to be a good buy-and-hold.
Personally, I'm still waiting for the next set of results - and the SP's reaction - before committing myself to either a judgment or an investment, but I thought it might be interesting to cast a different light on the points you made.
