THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Manuel.

Are you a member of the "smear party"?

cynic - 08 Feb 2019 12:36 - 81495 of 81564

nope .... just a reader of the news

poor little fred really doesn't like it when someone has the temerity to criticise his hero, but happy enough to dish it out to all and sundry on the tory side

required field - 11 Feb 2019 20:53 - 81496 of 81564

Just a quick mention for : Mr Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac : wishing a good recovery.....those guitar solos for the Fleet were fantastic...I think it was the Mirage tour.... ….needs an extended version released…..

Stan - 13 Feb 2019 12:14 - 81497 of 81564

Not in Cornwall but take care down there George as the rumour is that all 3 were Tory voters ):-

Only a half-wit would consider the murder of three elderly men as something to joke about.

Stan - 13 Feb 2019 16:06 - 81499 of 81564

The only joke on here is you Scoby.

Extremely poor taste Stan

Stan - 13 Feb 2019 16:19 - 81501 of 81564

Tories commenting on taste ...I've heard it all now 😂

Fred1new - 13 Feb 2019 16:25 - 81502 of 81564

George,

I thought you would revel in it!

2517GEORGE - 13 Feb 2019 16:55 - 81503 of 81564

What, the fact that 3 elderly men have been murdered, you are one sick individual and your bag man is equally sick.

Stan - 13 Feb 2019 17:09 - 81504 of 81564

Language George please and personal abuse does you no credit at all!...apparently 3 elderly Tories have been murdered this week so shame on you!

cynic - 13 Feb 2019 17:16 - 81505 of 81564

much more interesting, though i did not get a chance to read the whole in the Times ......
apparently (allegedly) if there was a GE today, the tories would get in with a small majority ...... tories +4 seats; labour -12 seats; no idea how the others split nor the scope of the poll

Fred1new - 13 Feb 2019 17:32 - 81506 of 81564

George.

What are your views on immigrants fleeing?

iturama - 13 Feb 2019 18:05 - 81507 of 81564

Forget them George. Fred is obese and doesn't get out much, while Stan is just a lonely keyboard nutter whose only outlet is posting his gibberish on here. I almost feel sorry for them.

Stan - 13 Feb 2019 18:06 - 81508 of 81564

No doubt it does Alf and not surprising or relevent as:

1. There isn't going to be an election today.

2. Political parties don't show they're hand until the last moment before polling day.

3. That quote comes from the Murdoch gutter press so not unbiased.

cynic - 14 Feb 2019 08:31 - 81509 of 81564

i don't entirely disagree with what you say, but the Times still has considerably more credibility that the Mail or Express

i must remember to catch up with the Observer's fortnightly poll
that can scarcely be damned as having right wing bias

meanwhile .....
what a stunning gaffe ......
john mcdonnell calls churchill a villain

though no doubt taken out of context, that will hardly endear him and his party to the voting public

hilary - 14 Feb 2019 08:56 - 81510 of 81564

Dunno about him being a villain, but he's certainly annoying!

Fred1new - 14 Feb 2019 09:28 - 81511 of 81564

Little Man.

John McDonnell has called Sir Winston Churchill a "villain" over his role in dealing with striking miners in 1910.

At a Politico event, when asked to give a one-word answer on whether Churchill was a hero or villain, the shadow chancellor said: "Tonypandy - villain".

During the Tonypandy riots of 1910, troops were sent out to control striking miners who wrecked town centre shops and mine owners' property.""

Churchill was scuttled out of South Wales with his tail between his legs.

Blinkered little man.

Polish your glasses and read : https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-29701767

Have a look at Churchill's whole history.

So both you and Churchill were scuttled out of Wales with your tails between your legs.

cynic - 14 Feb 2019 10:41 - 81513 of 81564

poor little thin-skinned red fred ........ if he wasn't such a supercilious specimen, one might even be driven close to tears

without much difficulty, i can think of many incidents and flaws in churchill's character

however, the public's perception of churchill is of the "great saviour" - which of course he was - and thus mcdonnell's comment was a blunder of almost tsunami proportions ...... that it tells much about him and by association, also corbyn, will no doubt be remembered, even when the immediate fallout has (quickly) settled
