How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Angola just gone from 3.0 to 1.8 on the sending off of a Congo player after 20 mins - looks a bit like an over reaction though the way they are playing Congo will soon be down to 9 lol

Thanks Bakko.

Made a book before the off and all green but hadn't made my mind up on the match. Just following at the moment.

Evening Scrip,

I was just brewing up to settle in front of the TV and they score so didn't even get a chance to check the odds.

Picked up on the Cameroon game instead so will be watching for now.

Scripophilist - 25 Jan 2006 20:34 - 8161 of 10502

Game on, winner takes all now!

Justice has been done.

Scripophilist - 25 Jan 2006 20:45 - 8166 of 10502

So what now, I'm clueless. Man U need to score and so do Blackburn so maybe lay the draw?

Scripophilist - 25 Jan 2006 20:50 - 8167 of 10502

Mega fight in the tunnel at half time!

It's a very strange scenario as Man U would need to score 2 more to make it fairly safe to qualify.

If Blackburn score another then they'd be favourites to go through.

If it stays like this then extra time and possible penalties.

In a way you're right to lay the draw but I'm keeping well away for now.

Scripophilist - 25 Jan 2006 20:53 - 8169 of 10502

I'm nervous after last night!

bakko - 25 Jan 2006 20:55 - 8170 of 10502

If you're green then there's no need to be...LOL!

bakko - 25 Jan 2006 20:59 - 8171 of 10502

Just looked at the "To Qualify" odds.

Blackburn to qualify at 3.0 appears to be good value??

May take some later in the 2nd half if it remains 1-1
