Blimey, talking to myself here :S
Mustn't get fixated with shorting, seems most reporting indicates that the $ will be 'soft' this week.

I'm listening PTH :-)

Not closing my position, looking for 150+ points over the coming days.......

ptholden - 25 Jun 2007 17:16 - 8171 of 11056

Hi SC, hope you are having a fun day.

Just nudged my line so short again from 72, although once again I have a feeling it may retrace further, perhaps to 9988, if so I'll add up there, if it, doesn't happy days.

Seymour Clearly - 25 Jun 2007 17:19 - 8172 of 11056

I'll be happier once it's going my way big time.

ptholden - 25 Jun 2007 17:21 - 8173 of 11056

Well, you can't go far wrong with a stop at entry for the moment. You can always start again.

Seymour Clearly - 25 Jun 2007 17:31 - 8174 of 11056

Nah, I'm fed up with being stopped out for just a few points, stop's above $2, give this one room to breathe. Probably wrong but we'll see.

ptholden - 25 Jun 2007 20:26 - 8175 of 11056

As suspected 9975 didn't prove much resistance, added again at 9988. Hope I have it right this time :S

Details of latest COT (commitment of traders) data can be found here.

Yen on the move...

ptholden - 26 Jun 2007 07:53 - 8178 of 11056

Must admit all this talk of the 'falling greenback' this week based on poor US economic data is making me a somewhat nervous bear. Closed the 9988 trade for +17, probably premature, but still have the 9972 jobbie and will look to add somewhere else this morning. Profit in the bank and all that.

Edit: 9972 trade also closed for +1.5 :S

Short again Cable from 9978

Seymour Clearly - 26 Jun 2007 08:48 - 8180 of 11056

Closed the last one +7, short again from 79 - or long the $ - I much prefer being long something :-)

ptholden - 26 Jun 2007 09:40 - 8181 of 11056

For what it's worth, Cable is currently capped by a 60 EMA and falling RSI on the 10 min chart at 9982 ish, dunno if it will continue.

ptholden - 26 Jun 2007 10:03 - 8182 of 11056

The answer was NO! :(
Added at 9992 with a rather tight stop.

mg - 26 Jun 2007 10:17 - 8183 of 11056

Managed to make my Jappy points back over the last couple of days - certainly has been a learning experience. Tempted to long but not at the moment.

ptholden - 26 Jun 2007 10:24 - 8184 of 11056

Closed both for +15, should have waited :(

ptholden - 26 Jun 2007 10:26 - 8185 of 11056

Well done meggers, looking for a cable short re-entry

foale - 26 Jun 2007 10:29 - 8186 of 11056

Action in the Yen....not cable atm...just closed euro/jpy shorts and GBP/JPY from a couple of days ago... looks far enough in the very short term...

GBP / YEN entry was 247.50 and being short you do notice that carry cost as compared to cable trades... still 200 bp in 48 hours...ok for me

ptholden - 26 Jun 2007 10:35 - 8187 of 11056

foale

Depends how you look at action, cable has produced 100 pips for me in the last 24 hrs (long may it continue). Anyway, I always seem to make a mess of the Yen :S

Well, here we go again, short cable once more, this time from 72 (preferred 92 though)
