How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Blackburn only need another goal to be in the qualification driving seat but aren't really pressing forward

bakko - 25 Jan 2006 21:46 - 8177 of 10502

Just scalped a few on Man U

bakko - 25 Jan 2006 21:50 - 8178 of 10502

where did that 4mins come from?

bakko - 25 Jan 2006 21:55 - 8179 of 10502

So it's Man U v Wigan at Cardiff.

Possibly ManU's only chance of silverware this season!

Scripophilist - 25 Jan 2006 21:56 - 8180 of 10502

Wigan will be up for that match.

Fundamentalist - 25 Jan 2006 22:21 - 8181 of 10502

Evening all

been out for the night, see Man U scraped through

Just having a look at the tennis, tempted to leave a lay in the system for the Federer match tonight but will prob be about for the Nalbandian v Bagdhatis match in the morning

Also the cricket ODI between SL and Aus - think SL will be worth backing if they win the toss (and bat first) though wouldnt get involved pre toss and hope to be sound asleep at 3ish lol so will take a look when i get up

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 07:36 - 8182 of 10502

Day out on the tennis matches lol - try again tonite.

Looks like SL total shouldnt me much to test the Aussies

Scripophilist - 26 Jan 2006 09:21 - 8183 of 10502

This Tennis stuff is good fun, just sat here scalping in either direction.

Looks like rain is on the way though, roof is half over. I find in funny that they have a roof in Sunny AUS but not one in SW9!

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 09:24 - 8184 of 10502

Scripophilist - 26 Jan 2006 09:37 - 8185 of 10502

Will mess up the "No rain at Wimbledon" market for sure!

Nalbandian just looks too strong in this match.

Scripophilist - 26 Jan 2006 10:14 - 8186 of 10502

Come on Baggy!, Nalbandian back out to 1.33

Dil - 26 Jan 2006 10:16 - 8187 of 10502

What odds are England for the Grand Slam and the Championship ?

Cheers

Scripophilist - 26 Jan 2006 10:16 - 8188 of 10502

Steve, I am working hard on the Aussie open on a tennis model. Currently focusing on just the game markets and if I can get that sussed, I'll move on to set and match odds.

Hopefully will be ready in time for Wimbledon.

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 10:23 - 8189 of 10502
