So it back to earlys again then?

superrod - 14 Aug 2004 15:53 - 819 of 2262

i get up early every day. i go to work early every day. i go home late every day. i get paid 500 quid a week for 100 hours. plus my work is using extremely carcinogenic materials. no wonder my only contractor wont let me on the books. it would cost him at least double. shares like tad are my ongoing lottery punts. i would love to see 2.00 but im afraid im going to die early......a day before tad hits the big time knowing my luck.

:o(

off to waste yet another fiver on the lottery. might rape someone on the way.

( poor taste )

Posted on another BB this morning by Newly Rich.

Conversation with Hugh Patterson,
Which I had this morning.

The gist of which is: The document is with UK listing and it's complex; long and exhaustive. Theirs no delay at all as it's going through in the normal way for such a document although delays can occur for various reasons and usually due to certain wording or some other legal aspect. None of this is applicable here and it'll be issued as soon as it's been given permission to enter the public domain and then the EGM will be called. Personally, i'm a bit puzzled by some posters calling for an EGM now. It can't be called until the document is released.

Theirs no change to the terms of acquisition or the strike rate and both companies are quite excited by the proposed deal as they are complementary to each other but I think most of us know that anyway.

Presently, theirs five streaming companies which will become four if the deal goes ahead and of those four, only two are likely to be serious competition and even that is not a serious consideration as Tad intends to be the World industry standard for both the corporate and gaming market.

Why hasn't the company issued an update? What is their to update? RNS giving the bones of the deal was issued; The meat is the document when released in the public domain. In between what's happened to drop the share price? Absolutely nothing and I agree with that. Market manipulation and spreading of uncertainty springs to mind but I think we all know that too.

In a nutshell; the acquisition of Stream theory is the biggest move in Tads history and could pave the way for Tad to be the world leader in streaming technology and we all know the ramifications of that.

The unrest on this board is understandable. However, if your also trying to ensure that your striving to be a World leader in technology, isn't it important to get everything right? You can't argue with that.

I'm quite happy and quite honestly, I think we could see a sharp re-adjustment of the share price, once the document is released. Just my own private thoughts and as a long term investor rather than a jonny-come-lately with their own particular agenda's. I wont be selling my shares and likewise wont be responding to questions concerning this post. You can all make up your minds.

Hi ML
Do you really buy all that?

Moneylender - 17 Aug 2004 16:45 - 823 of 2262

Hi Yuff

Well I bought some more last Friday, today and I will probably go in for another lot shortly, so I guess, yes is the word.
I have no doubt the deal will go through. Any one that has done the research into TAD and the games market will realise the enormous growth potential here. With ST we will have the ability to become the Industry Standard, its not a forgone conclusion but my money is on us suceeding.
In addition we have deals with 3 or 4 of the worlds biggest Co's. OK we dont know what revenue is being generated yet, but its revenue and that means we are moving in the right direction.
Then we have Cartesia, by all accounts is in profit.
So where is the problem?
Communication or patience? Patience will be rewarded Yuff.

so what is your price target if all goes through?

goal - 23 Aug 2004 16:14 - 825 of 2262

Moneylender, TA share price still looks bad but, small shares like Tad could turn overnight & TA goes though the window. Have you got any info on when Tad might say how things are going? recent acquisition sound good to me.

Moneylender - 23 Aug 2004 16:58 - 826 of 2262

Hi Goal

I have no idea exactly when the details will be announced, but
i do expect them this week, any later and we will be at year end by the time the EGM is set.
Like everyone I am frustrated by the time delay but having done as much research as i can i am happy that this deal is a major step
forward for TAD and will accelerate our growth.

"If you can wait and not be tired by waiting" Goodness knows Ive been waitin a long long time, and Im holdin on.

We seem to have overlooked the size of potential future contracts once this stream venture has been succesfully integrated, also the credibility Tad has received lately from some of the biggest Companies, who will, in my view be earning lots of Dollars for Tad.

So "If you can hold on, when there is nothing left in you, except the will that says hold on". I'm sure you will be rewarded.

A logical middle road for delivering demos

In our April 13, 2004, Tip of the Week, we told you about technology from a company called Surgient that provides for hosted demos of complex software apps.

Here's another approach to the same problem, with some innovative twists that will appeal to software marketers.

Endeavors Technology, a developer based in Irvine, Calif., will also put your software on their server for demo purposes, but, unlike Surgient, it doesn't run there.

"We actually stream down the product as it's needed," says Joe Anzenberger, Endeavor's marketing VP. "The title is on a server, and when a person registers, they download just enough of the software as needed.

"So, you're using the desktop PC rather than the server. We've found that performance is really limited by bandwidth rather than processing. If an application is slow, it will be slow even if they're running off a disk."

Your software is streamed to a virtual drive on the user's PC, and stored in an encrypted cache area with links to several points on the client machine. "Even if you made a copy of the cache and tried to move it to another machine, it wouldn't work," Anzenberger says.

"AutoDesk is one of our customers, and in the nearly two years they've been working with us they've not reported a single case of piracy."

Each software vendor determines whether or not they want to enable offline use via the Endeavors technology, as well as the amount of timefrom hours to yearsthat the user will be able to run it.

This offline capability offers an obvious advantage to users who want to try out your software without being connected to the Internet. And, unlike software demos on physical media, Endeavors can provide feedback.

"We install our own thin client on the user's PC," Anzenberger says. "When the person comes back online, as soon as they're Web connected again, it relays information back to the vendor.

"It tells them how many times they've run the software and what they've done with it. This is really what separates us from the competition: We give you a way of knowing what's happening, which in turn gives you better lead follow-up."

Because your software is not running on remote servers, Endeavors also claims the ability to handle far more concurrent usersup to 5,000 concurrently, says Anzenberger. "We've actually run tests and found that it will scale to 10,000 users," he says, "but for the sake of efficiency, we like to limit it to 5,000 users per server."

Support issues have been minimal, Anzenberger says: When 8,000 users downloaded an AutoDesk demo over a six-month period, only 1.3 percent called for technical support.

Most commonly, the problem resides, as we say in software circles, between the user's chair and monitor. "Sometimes it's a network issueif they're running a double firewall it can be difficultbut most of the time it was just a user error," says Anzenberger.

The cost of the Endeavors service is negotiated, but Anzenberger says the range is $1 to $4 per download. "It depends on the size of the application and the number of users. Complexity will drive it up, and number of users will drive it down."

If your software is small and uncomplicated and you have a small number of users, an online demo capability like Endeavor's may not be cost effective for you. But if either your software or user base are large, it could pay off.

"Lots of developers send out CDs, and we know they spend $5 to $10 per user if the demo's on physical media," Anzenberger says. "Or, they have a full download on their site at minimal cost, but they have no idea of who's using it, and no way of following up. We try to set our price somewhere in the middle."

Hi. First post here although I've been registered for ages.

Tad has pretty well met the downside target set by the triangle it dropped from, but the price has pretty much moved sideways since the initial fall. The 50 day EMA (depending on which website/period etc you look at) is just above the major resistance at 11.5-11.75p. This is likely to provide strong resistance to any upmove unless caused by very good news generating a buying panic and high accompanying volumes. I'm can't make up my mind whether the fact that the price has traded sideways is good pricewise or not.

pjjw - 26 Aug 2004 15:58 - 835 of 2262

Indieman
This price range has been the most constent in tad since I bought. This must be a good sign for a rise soon unless the news is bad would you not say.

Moneylender - 26 Aug 2004 18:05 - 836 of 2262

Will the details be announced in Aug or Sept?
We have two days left for August, I think it will be worth the wait even if it is September.
Well done on your buy this afternoon PJ.

Indieman - 26 Aug 2004 18:17 - 837 of 2262

PJ,

I'm not convinced in technical terms that sideways movement is an indication that the present downtrend is over.

We have seen something similar recently prior to the fall to the current level. Sideways consolidations are often (indeed usually) just that, consolidations before a continuation in the prior direction, in this case downwards.

In terms of the company rather than the share price, the nervousness is probably reducing. The future (of Tad + Stream) is promising, but the damage done to the company by the poor handling of shareholder relations will still rankle with investors for some time to come.

Thus the dichotomy between the TA and the company's prospects. Years of experience has taught me that where TA and 'fundamentals' disagree, the TA is usually right. Remember also that my comments on TA are from a medium to long term view and are not intended for traders.
