How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Morning from me me too.

Edward....Nice to catch you here again.

Not on Baggy v Bandy match as just been on the cricket :-) but watching in the background

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 11:27 - 8195 of 10502

had to work hard to save there

couple of stats if it goes to a 5th

the player who is 2-0 up wins more than the player 2-0 down
bagdhatis is 5 from 5 in 5th set deciders
baghdatis has never been to 5 sets from 2-0 down

make of those what you will lol

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 11:28 - 8196 of 10502

You lump on the aussies Bak ?

Scripophilist - 26 Jan 2006 11:32 - 8197 of 10502

This match is great entertainment and perfectly poised at the moment.

compoundup - 26 Jan 2006 11:32 - 8198 of 10502

Greened once on Bag. Now backed again at 2.8 serving for the set

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 11:33 - 8199 of 10502

2 sets all

Scripophilist - 26 Jan 2006 11:34 - 8200 of 10502

Would be great to see a Bagy, Fed final

compoundup - 26 Jan 2006 11:36 - 8201 of 10502

Trying to be dispassionate. Odds still favour Nalbandian. N has first serve. Can't see Bag's odds drifting if he struggles infirst game of final set. Will stay on the back...

Scripophilist - 26 Jan 2006 11:36 - 8202 of 10502

Quick 30% there ed.

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 11:38 - 8203 of 10502

could have had 40% on the game by game :-)

compoundup - 26 Jan 2006 11:41 - 8204 of 10502

Nal changed from orange to blue - trying to throw me off :-)

bakko - 26 Jan 2006 11:42 - 8205 of 10502

Steve

Only a modest lump at 1.16 when Symonds came in to bat then finally greened up at 1.03 but odds chopped and changed a bit as wickets fell in between

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 11:42 - 8206 of 10502

I was scalping most of it but laid the aussies at 1.06 for half my profit :-(

compoundup - 26 Jan 2006 11:44 - 8207 of 10502

Now a lesson in not banking profits and the sun on my screen, grrrr.

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 11:48 - 8208 of 10502

Break back point

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 11:49 - 8209 of 10502

1 break each

come on baggy

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 11:52 - 8210 of 10502

nicely in profit

really should green up but fancy baggy to win this now

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 11:59 - 8211 of 10502

Nalbandian breaks again

compoundup - 26 Jan 2006 12:01 - 8212 of 10502

What a match. Would rather your book Steve, win or zero. I cut my risk before Bag broke serve so I'm zero or loss on Bag.

Fundamentalist - 26 Jan 2006 12:02 - 8213 of 10502

Edward

just laid Nalbandian again - now it is time to go green and enjoy the tennis i think
