LW, Jeff,

My mother does the horses to the extent of it being an integral part of her life. Religiously on a Saturday morning she'll pick through her runners before phoning her bets through to her bookie. She'll only bet 1 or 2 at a time and, whilst it'll never make her rich, she doesn't bet enough to make her poor either. She does a lot of place pots and accumulators. Funnily enough, she has had some decent wins over the years. 15 or 16 years ago she won enough to take me and my sister off to Rhodes for a couple of weeks. She's in her element this week with Cheltenham.

Personally, it doesn't interest me at all. Whenever I go anywhere near a horse it leaves a pile of steaming near my feet.

Jeff.
You had me quite unsettles there for a few minutes. Have you seen vasey so far today? The wee lassie is often around early and I thought I might treat her to a slap up breakfast.

jgp212 - 15 Mar 2003 07:13 - 837 of 23498

Socks,

Why did you feel unsettled?

:-)

Jeff

Socrates - 15 Mar 2003 07:20 - 838 of 23498

Jeff, it was the thought of someone dashing around and doing things like cutting grass, washing cars etc. Ooh, it makes me shudder just to think about activity on a weekend.

Jeff
My apologies, I've just come back on line and seen your message. I have been abiding by my philosophy and lounging in a hot bath, scoffing my breakfast and perusing my delivered newspaper. I have to go out very shortly and will be back around 2 post meridian. Should you wish to, send me a message via the internal e-mail (just click on Socrates). I note that yours is not activated, is that intentional?

jeffmack - 15 Mar 2003 09:57 - 841 of 23498

Well, I'm at work again today. A Bank Managers work is never finished

hilary - 15 Mar 2003 10:37 - 842 of 23498

And all bank managers require a regular supply of hot tea delivered to their desk. Cue Jeffmack and his carpet slippers.
