You are welcome to cross the Bay of Biscay snoball!! Used to have a 36 foot ketch (Contest) and the happiest day of my life was when we sold it! Perhaps it would have been better in the Med but we sailed in Southern Brittany and Friesian Islands and it was cold, cold, cold ......... I have to admit though a Moody is a nice boat, but the Bay of Biscay .... no thanks. You are made of sterner stuff than me.

Socrates - 22 Jun 2004 17:13 - 8283 of 23498

Good evening one and all. It's hard to keep up with all the posts on here recently. Such activity has not been seen since the old days on "the other bb". All we need now is Ashley to show a leg and it will be a full house.

Mind you, the foods better in here.

snoball
I thought the wheels had fallen off your porch but it's worse than that, is it?

Hilary
Hi, where you been hiding? Must stop winding Jeffmack up, these IT types can be a funny lot, next thing you know your bank statement will come out printed in Chinese!

hilary - 22 Jun 2004 17:33 - 8284 of 23498

Hello Old Socs. I haven't been hiding anywhere ........ I just don't seem to post as much nowadays. There's no particular reason for that.

I wouldn't worry too much about Jeffmack. He'll be too busy doing important things like pushing his sterling silver tea trolley along the Corridors of Power to worry about me outbidding him for some naff bits of old clay.

Socrates - 22 Jun 2004 17:49 - 8285 of 23498

Hilary
You're probably right, silver tea trolley? Whatever next!

jeffmack - 22 Jun 2004 19:22 - 8286 of 23498

Socs
Hilarys too busy counting her money these days.

Socrates - 22 Jun 2004 19:25 - 8287 of 23498

Jeffmack
I'm sure Hilary would employ an accountant to do that whilst she basks in the sun.

little willie - 22 Jun 2004 22:26 - 8288 of 23498

Socs...Basks? as in sharks?....Grrrrr..

Jeffers..You're off your trolley getting those bloomin pots; you have to fill 'em half full of gravel, all the water drains straight through;
if you try the old plastic carrier bag trick the soil/compost goes mouldy, nah, forget 'em.
Oh yes, then the frost cracks them or you knock one over, wife goes bananas, you're in the dog house where you probably would have been if you'd have refused to buy them for 'her indoors' in the first place.
Listen to an experienced 'old lag', been there, done it and still wearing the chimney pot!

Golddog - 22 Jun 2004 23:15 - 8289 of 23498

Poochy staggers in through the cat flap.

Lazy days, How lovely of you to find us here, as you can see this Cafe is very much the same as it always was except for the mounted dolphin over the fire-place. I know you are a strict veggie like our Bunny so we have plenty on the menu to cater for your every need! (plus steak if you ever fancy a bit!). I hope your studies are still going strong and you are very welcome to sit and study by the Cafe window (which over-looks a nudist beach) whenever you wish. Please call again only poochy likes his lazy days. ;-)
and this is for you naturally........ x

Hilary, any old boots would do! They all look good on you. except wellington boots.

Socks, I never knew you were so wise! a trifle wise you may say.

amberjane, Glad to here you had a nice birthday! poochy thinks you are naughty, highly naughty and very very bad girl. naughty bad girl. bad bad bad and naughty. You must come here more often. (so to speak!);-)

and yes i will be 30 this coming Saturday so it's good bye to the twenties and hello thirties.

hilary - 23 Jun 2004 08:33 - 8290 of 23498

Pardon my ignorance on these matters, Little Winky, but I assumed the idea was that you stood a smaller plastic plant pot on some bricks inside the chimney pot. If you use some trailing plants, then it should hide the plastic pot. Or is it more complicated than that?

Poochy,

30!!??!! You're just a puppy. It's not really the weather for boots atm. But then it isn't really the weather for sandals and flip-flops either. I'm biding time in jeans and trainers till the weather picks up. Do you want to see a picture of them instead?

daves dazzlers - 23 Jun 2004 08:48 - 8291 of 23498

hilary,i was being serious about the chelsea thing you no.whats the story down your end.

little willie - 23 Jun 2004 10:51 - 8292 of 23498

Hilts...I don't know, something about plastic not being good vfor rootstock? plus earthenware/clay breathes? I'm digging a hole here, help, I'm going under and its raining outside, oh bugger it; I'm off down the new house site to see what probs await me there today.
Should have been playing golf but cried off due to inclemate weather, its pi**ing down!
Must be a great day over there if Hilts is just in Jeans and trainers, nothing else? [is Jean male or female?].

hilary - 23 Jun 2004 12:04 - 8293 of 23498

You'll have to guess what I'm wearing on the top half, Winks.

:o)

So how are we all??

little willie - 23 Jun 2004 15:19 - 8300 of 23498

It'll be Bay City Rollers 'Bye Bye Baby'next with tartan scarves.
I reckon Jimmy didn't supply the trainers and wish I'd been in the office for the second piccy.
Like the look of your new gaff by the by, take it it was the first mansion? or was it the shed in the background?..lol..looking forward to a piccyn of you in your Pearly outfit, would go down well here in Paarl [Afrikaan for Pearl] after the huge rock the overlooks the town.

stockbunny - 23 Jun 2004 16:54 - 8301 of 23498

Quiet again I see in here...everyone gone to Wimbledon?
Well if they have they'll be getting pretty wet, what a day (yuck!)

Dinner menu:
Vegetable and Dahl curry plus veggie samosas all hot and ready to eat,
plus Chicken Tikka Masala & Korma and a lethal Lamb Vindaloo, all on the go in the kitchen with the usual pompa-domies, rice and nans and if you don't 'do'
spicy no doubt there's stuff to throw in a frying pan in the fridge.
Well you need something warm and cheerful on a day like today!!
