Do you know, someone today asked me why elephants paint their toenails red?
Of course I said that I didn't. So he told me it was so they could hide in cherry trees. Well, I had to admit I had never seen an elephant in a cherry tree and he held that that was a measure of the ploys effectiveness.

I have this uncomfortable feeling that there is a hole in this hypothesis somewhere but I just can't put my finger on it!

Never mind, I'll just have a bucket of sherry trifle and think about it.

8 Ball - 23 Jun 2004 22:32 - 8307 of 23498

Hello GD and Socs, nice to see you still on the trifle.

Great to see hilary's legs again, cheered me up no end.

The quality of customers in here as gone downhill since my last visit.
I will leave an old pair of shoes outside for those less fortunate, just hope you can squeeze into a size 7.

Back to square one when I've recovered my composure after seeing Hilary's legs.

stockbunny - 24 Jun 2004 14:11 - 8321 of 23498

Dave - don't know any details but yes there was a rumour about, that a
new investment game will be running but with teams rather then individuals
(I think!) Don't worry I'm sure Poochy will make sure everyone knows before
it all begins, so you wont get left out.

Gausie - A fair pair of size 9's there young man - FEET! I'M TALKING
ABOUT FEET!!...before anyone starts turning the cogs in the dark recesses
of their brains....My I suggest a foot bath in cooled peppermint tea after
a long day walking about the office...

Good to see so many in and about yesterday/today and so far today no rain!

Snowie - sorry to hear about the porch - considering the rot you found,
the hassle in starting to rebuild it, plus the wind taking it out again,
do you not think it is possible that the Great Bob the Builder in the sky
is telling you that you'd be better off without one????

jeffmack - 24 Jun 2004 14:16 - 8322 of 23498

Fundy

Golddog - 24 Jun 2004 15:33 - 8325 of 23498

dotel, what a lovely fruit! may i have it?

dazzzzzzling dave, Yes i was going to do another investment game and then no one seemed interested so i thought about not bothering! however maybe i can think about it again. If i do it will be a Team based game where everyone picks a share to invest into their teams portfolio over say 3 months with maybe a trade halfway through.

snoball, i will be round this afternoon to give you a helping paw with the porch.

cup of hotly brewed tea i think.

Then i'm popping down the cellar to give it a spring clean.
