RTD - Why? (RTD)

Nitefly - 15 Sep 2003 10:55

Why are we again at 10.5p bid?

It doesn't add up...

Good Results + Strong buying pre results + Christmas online buying soon = Price drop

Then again some companies that have debt for equity hanging in the balance, poor results and bankruptcy around the corner and they go up!

Why sell now at a loss?

Wont that be a kick in the teeth when we see 13.5p 14p again!

Best of luck all.

Tokyo - 01 Mar 2004 09:03 - 832 of 2406

and we're off..........7m+ buys and it is only 9am

Fundamentalist - 01 Mar 2004 09:13 - 833 of 2406

Nice to see some MM buys this am - they appear to be trying to gather stock - despite the rush for it this morning. Personally I would expect to see some tree shaking later as they try to get enough stock for tomorrow (my cynicism assumes they know more than we do but on this basis we should be in for a good day tomorrow)

Just been looking back at the interims again and 2 things have come to mind that I think will play a large part in the sentiment tomorrow. Firstly, when looking at the profit figures, they have been writing off quite large chunks of ammortisation. They will do even more of this at year end imho and this may depress the headline profit figure (though obviously not the free cashflow). Secondly, I believe that a lot of this years performance is now priced in and any potential huge jump will come about on the back of CC forward looking statement. In the past some of his statements have been conservative to say the least, lets hope he puts a very positive spin on it tomorrow (preferably with some new contract announcements to back it up)

Still holding for the long term - good luck all

Tokyo - 01 Mar 2004 09:24 - 834 of 2406

if the profits happen to be lower than 5.5 million, what is this gonna do to the stock price? & if these rumours of 7 million profit are true, any speculation to the stock priice tomorrow and with the week to come?

look forward to reading the wealth of knowledge from among the RTD holders

Fundamentalist - 01 Mar 2004 09:41 - 835 of 2406

Tokyo,

a while ago i posted a variety of scenarios that will cover your above question. I am still expecting profits of c.5.5m and would be happily proved wrong (at 7m+). I believe in that post I expected 28p pre results and 35p post results and have seen/heard nothing to alter my view. The only certainty with RTD in the next few days is volatility.

Thanks Fundamentalist

Apple,

www.frequenttrader.info is Robbie Burns site - you will find further info there. Also, it was interesting to note that to finance a new purchase he has sold two stocks - but decided to hold RTD through the results - heres hoping he knows whats coming.

See you all at 7am - good luck all holders

Douggie - 01 Mar 2004 22:00 - 843 of 2406

I'm hopeing that since this share has not soared away, but has had check back prior to results, it will be able to make steady progress in days/weeks ahead, rather than so oft seen mark down as soon as results no matter how good are published. xfinger beest wishes all D. :o)))

profitable, cash generative platform from which to invest in niche payment
transaction services and the growing fraud prevention market. Our ebitGuard
service is handling a rising number of online transactions and our US business
has turned around strongly.

The current year has started well with trading in line with the Board's
expectations'.

apple - 02 Mar 2004 07:27 - 845 of 2406

Any idea of a target share price based on the operating profit of 3.4m compared to the Adjusted operating profit of 5.9 million?

washlander - 02 Mar 2004 07:40 - 846 of 2406

look on this thread. I believe it has been mentioned before.

Fundamentalist - 02 Mar 2004 07:42 - 847 of 2406

Apple,

Just read the full set of results - my initial opinion is they are a great set of results but contain nothing thats not already priced in. Key points:

Adjusted Operating Profit 5.9m (second half 10% better than first half)
Operating Profit 3.4m

Cash generated 9m

Cash at bank 2.4m

New FD announced

Costs reduced 5%

Turnaround in struggling businesses (ie SA and US)

Ebitguard transactions increased 168%

Good level of new contracts/contract renewals
(new: Paysystems, Register.com and Shop NBC, renewed: Walmart and GSI Commerce)

Positive outlook for 2004 with current trading in line with boards expectations

Generally, I think this is a great set of results for the long term. What reaction we get in the short term i'm not sure, i guess there may be a small mark up and then some profit taking but all imho. Long term can only see onwards and upwards from here

Fundamentalist - 02 Mar 2004 07:45 - 848 of 2406

Initial quote has been marked up by .75p, 26p offer vs 26.5p bid

jfletendre - 02 Mar 2004 07:48 - 849 of 2406

Fundamentalist - my stockwatch and L2 say 25.25 offer, 26 bid - maybe its changed since you posted 2 minutes ago?

apple - 02 Mar 2004 07:50 - 850 of 2406

Thanks Fundamentalist

washlander I was wondering what effect the difference between these 2 figures would have.

Tokyo - 02 Mar 2004 07:52 - 851 of 2406

Adjusted Operating Profit 5.9m......With a PE of 20, this should put the share price at around 40 pence, right?

Oh today, and the rest of the week is going to be vey interesting......
