How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

one of my list of checks i do in the morning is highlight any Barney Curley runners and keep an eye on them for any large lumps - they tend to go one way or another in a big way - as someone posted on the forum - theyre not running it for the 1700 prize money lol

add to that if he has 2 horses entered for a race, expect the short price fav to be pulled out before the race and then the "outsider" to be heavily backed and hose up

as bent as they come in my book (though nothing has ever been proved against him) and all you can do is jump on the bandwagon

You could see the dirty money all over the market. People were backing it at any price.

Fundamentalist - 31 Jan 2006 15:19 - 8381 of 10502

Keightly training and Williams riding are often an interesting combination - seem to have many held up that run into the back of others having drifted alarmingly before the off

Finspread users stuffed again, the site was poor yesterday and they blamed my PC for missing info, this morning ` sugar` was shown as untradeable, a `phone call to them said there was no trading, later surprise , my stop-loss was triggered.
Just cancelled my account- they now blame Java, although it works here all right-hate!!!!!

African nations just kicked off - interestingly if Senegal beat Nigeria either 2-1 of 3-2 then both clubs are guaranteed to qualify - a few rumours about that it may be fixed but the prices dont appear to have crashed as 1 would expect

bakko - 31 Jan 2006 17:07 - 8386 of 10502

Green on Ghana v Zimbabwe :-)

Harlosh - 31 Jan 2006 17:08 - 8387 of 10502

Harlosh - 31 Jan 2006 17:09 - 8388 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 31 Jan 2006 17:09 - 8389 of 10502

bakko - 31 Jan 2006 17:11 - 8390 of 10502
