I like this one :
West LB CEO says German banks having trouble getting foreign credit, repeats WestLB has no liquidity problems.
Says that the situation for German banks is "Not Uncritical"
So it's not actually critical then ;-)

UBS analyst comments on commercial paper market - Notes that Commercial Paper has $550 Billion Coming Due within 90 days.
Article cites that the The $1.1 trillion market for commercial paper used to buy assets from mortgages to car loans has 'seized up' just as more than half of that amount comes due in the next 90 days, according to the Federal Reserve statistics.
Article notes that unless issuers of cp find new buyers, hundreds of hedge funds and home-loan companies will be forced to sell $75 billion of debt backed by mortgages.
Sounds like fun !

Northern Rock, Alliance & Leicester and HBOS rushing to say that they did not tap into the BOE emergency funds made available today.
So who did pay the 100 basis points premium for emergency cash ?

Wish I could say I've been sunning myself - anywhere!
Thank you for your bons mots, mon cher petit jolly green giant :)
Lost my connection the middle of last week and I've only just got it back.
And I seem to have slept through most of the pre-armageddon-amble :S

Yes, we really do love pink ;)
WOMEN really do prefer pink and men blue and it goes back to the Stone Age, say scientists.
Boffins testing 208 volunteers found females have a preference for the red end of the colour scale, while fellas went for blue.
Dr Anya Hurlbert, of the University of Newcastle, said the link could be traced back to mankinds hunter-gatherer days.
She said: Evolution may have driven females to prefer reddish colours like ripe fruit and healthy, reddish faces.
Dr Anya suggested men might prefer blue as it signifies clear sky or a good water source.
Boffin??
Absolutely barkin

Stopped out again for -20 - not doing too well on the forex - hoping for better on indices - gone all fluffy and indexey - anyway, you're supposed to be wrapped up in bed. GET TO BED GAL - just 'cos you've been out playing with your mates - doesn't mean you can ignore the docs. GET TO BED ....... I've got a strange memory of playing GTB on another BB - how weird is that :)
