Morning all

Never thought I would say this as I have been an FYB addict on SEO for some time now. However, some of its members have reduced the intelligence level on FYB over the past few weeks and now I quite enjoy reading this board.

There are several contributors on here with some very sound and clear thinking which helps to keep the content within the realms of reasonable possibility rather than a load insane hyperbole.

Keep up the good work.

Eric Hi,

Wal-Mart don't have in store butchers, they got rid of all of them a few years ago, and changed all Wal-Mart meat to case-ready in MAP.

Cheers,
PM

Sharesure - 18 Aug 2005 12:58 - 8419 of 27111

PM, I was quoting what Howard White told me at the AGM; I would have thought that he should know as he had just returned from the States having set up SEO's office there. If he doesn't know what he is talking about then that is worrying.

paulmasterson1 - 18 Aug 2005 14:45 - 8420 of 27111

Sharesure Hi,

From the info on my website ....

Chris Simons, group brand manager of case-ready meat for Cargill, Minneapolis, MN, which owns Excel, says Other retailers have converted part of their casebeef, pork, or grindsor some stores to case-ready, but Wal-Mart is the only retailer that is 100-percent case-ready. Cargill operates seven case-ready meat plants that supply product to retailers such as Wal-Mart, Kroger, Shaws, and Teeters, Simons says.

Wal-Mart would not respond to our inquiries except through a spokesperson who stated: We have had positive customer reaction regarding our case-ready meat product line. We find that case-ready meat offers a variety of benefits to our customers including enhanced quality control, better overall appearance, and the increased ability to keep products in-stock.

Just what is case-ready meat? Meat industry veteran Dan Murphy, former editor of Meat Marketing and Technology, and now vice president of public affairs with the American Meat Institute, defines case-ready as Fresh meat prepackaged and/or prelabeled at a central location. Packaging ranges from film-sealed trays to pouches, bags, chubs and thermoformed packs using vacuum or other type of modified atmosphere packaging.

Cheers,
PM

Local authorities face stricter targets on the amount of waste sent to landfill
and as the costs of disposal significantly increases due to increases in
landfill tax, the UK will have to find radical solutions to reduce waste and
increase recycling
. PM Group, established in 1985, is well placed to address
this market with its popular WasteWeigh system for waste vehicle payload control
and its accredited and patented BinWeigh system for weighing the amount of waste
and recyclables in wheeled bins as they are being emptied.

I posted this on another board a couple of days ago.
This is one of the best explained articles on the future of oil I have read, its well worth a read, Note the view that the cost of oil based packaging will double.

Although we never know what the future holds, the views given by the author are scary.

Just one excert.... Shipping costs will quickly double, as will the cost of packaging with plastic.

buys nearly twice sells. almost 2m in wt trades showing as buys and we drop. why? (scratchy head time)

paulmasterson1 - 18 Aug 2005 16:59 - 8425 of 27111

Bos Hi,

It's getting closer to the EGM, possible news time, and the MM's will drop the price to fill big orders now, knowing that there is likely to be more smaller buys as we get nearer to the EGM, and they can bump the price back up then.

Cheers,
PM

proptrade - 18 Aug 2005 17:28 - 8427 of 27111

Paul..this stock is MM and order driven so please don't go blaming the MM who will " drop the price to fill big orders now" sounds amateurish mate!

you know i like your views and dedication to the board but that is a bit of a misguided explanation to the drop.

basically slow day, few sellers about and lack of concerted buying. simple explanantion without the consipacy theory!

stockdog - 18 Aug 2005 17:58 - 8428 of 27111

I've read that today/tomorrow is settlement day for T20 traders who bought on credit hoping fpr a quick profit for zero cash outlay. The MM's drop the price on closing day forcing them to sell at a loss or roll over and earn them a commision that way.

Is this true and is this why many shares, including SEO, have dipped today for no apparent reason? Are T20 periods fixed and where can one see the dates involved? Any knowledgeable views welcome.

Oilywag - 18 Aug 2005 19:20 - 8429 of 27111

Paul

I seem to remember you saying that you worked for a broker. If that is so, why do you say that MM are manipulating the price so that they can satisfy some orders coming through. I believe that there were far more buys than sells in terms of shares traded as opposed to the actual number of trades. And if there are big orders coming through, surely that is a sign of faith in SEO by larger than mere retail investors.

Correct me if you think I am wrong.

I would hazard a guess that SEO are likely to release some good news prior to the EGM just to prime the pumps in case there is a slight nervous or negative reaction to what is, or how the proposals are going to be presented to shareholders.

A little off topic - but also on topic as we might be losing PM1 - banned from ADFN and now suspended on FYB - appears he is starting his own website and so as he is in competition with other services like ADV - MAM - FYB - we might not see him anymore.

A post copied over from FYB (fillyaboots) - hope they do not mind -

I would like to pass on to all thread users the following quote from an email I have just received from Paul Masterson:

"FYI I am now going to build a new website, it will contain research on long term growth stocks, in the same way my Stanelco Research website does, it will not contain any suggestion of future price predictions, but will, like lemminginvestor, select various stocks with huge potential, it will also contain discussion forums, which I will administer.
For 48 a year I get what I want, a place to put all my research, a discussion forum where I can ban the abusers permanantly, and my own domain name, I call that a bargain.
I guess that means we will be in competition, so forget the reinstatement, conflicts of interest and all that."

I think that makes the situation very clear. PM1 has voluntarily relinquished his membership of this site. Needless to say, Fillyaboots will of course accede to his request not to be reinstated as a member.

Back to SEO - looks like a possible fall to 17p or 18p levels -

grph_hist.sh?TIDM=SEO.L&DAYS=95&CHART=11

Under pressure now - still only 2 confirmed orders and 1000 in the price.

Big debt coming - placing maybe - please vote yes at the EGM !

Big loss at FY results in 2006 - LOL - ;-) - What a stock - what a ramp it was IMO !

And there is no need for things like profit warnings - SE0 have not made a profit for many years - and never stated they would be making a profit - only others have been saying that - the company not - so onwards they go to yet another loss IMO !

Been catching up on the latest posts, some excellent stuff.
Eric not sure about the 4 month delay with ASDA,page 43
from the Biotec aquisition document concerning Greenseal.
States 14 days from the 23rd March, also goes on to say,
that they can terminate this agreement if targets are not
met.

Oily Hi,

If as I suggested, the MM's have lowered the price to fill big orders, that fits in my book, as there were big orders, at very good prices, you know institutions never pay the ask price, more lik mid price :)

I agree with you that news is likely but as a 'trading update' on the day of the EGM, typical use of a meeting is to sneak in updates, rather than beforehand, unless there is a deal to announce that is, in which case it will happen when it happens, they cannot delay such announcements, if they know, the market has to know at the same time.

Cheers,
PM
