How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Side looks a lot stronger with Pires and Ljundberg rather than Reyes and Hleb and also with Henry and Van Persie up front, bigger concern is obviously at the other end, especially Senderos at left back

Get out of the way Freddie!!!

Fundamentalist - 01 Feb 2006 20:11 - 8434 of 10502

lay Arsenal at your peril, seem to be up for this and could already be 2-0 up (Henrys shot was going in till ljundberg got in the way and van persie hit the post)

any thoughts on blackburn v manu ?

Scripophilist - 01 Feb 2006 20:16 - 8435 of 10502

Next to no in play volume on the Liverpool match at the moment. Somebody trying to lay them at 1.50 for 11k but very little volume actually going through the market.

Can't make any decision on the Blackburn vs Man U match so will leave it alone.

Dacourt and Ibrahimovic sent off in the Roma v Juve game

Fundamentalist - 01 Feb 2006 20:27 - 8440 of 10502

1-0 west ham

oh dear Sol Campbell

Fundamentalist - 01 Feb 2006 20:29 - 8441 of 10502

Arsenal only 2.22 at 1-0 down - looks ridiculously short (and yes i was looking to back them now!)

Scripophilist - 01 Feb 2006 20:31 - 8442 of 10502

Well a good night for me, Arsenal down and Brum have had a man sent off so I didn't even need a goal in the Liverpool match to go green.

bakko - 01 Feb 2006 20:32 - 8443 of 10502

Arsenal price does look quite juicy with more than an hour to play

Fundamentalist - 01 Feb 2006 20:34 - 8444 of 10502

2-0 West Ham

ffs Campbell

bakko - 01 Feb 2006 20:34 - 8445 of 10502

2-0 down now!

Scripophilist - 01 Feb 2006 20:34 - 8446 of 10502

2-0 West Ham!

Scripophilist - 01 Feb 2006 20:34 - 8447 of 10502

Arsenal are having a mare of a season Steve!

Scripophilist - 01 Feb 2006 20:35 - 8448 of 10502

Wenger out!

Scripophilist - 01 Feb 2006 20:35 - 8449 of 10502

Unfortunately I was green already so no real benefit from me on Arsenal. Tempted to have a look at backing them with some profit.

Fundamentalist - 01 Feb 2006 20:37 - 8450 of 10502

PMSL

yeah first year we finish outside the top two and sack him. transitional at the mo - desperately need reinforcement in central midfield and central defence

the big worry is the effect it will have on whether Henry signs a new contract

PS why are arsenal still only 6.4?

Scripophilist - 01 Feb 2006 20:38 - 8451 of 10502

It's a season of transition, Blackburn 1-0 Man Utd
