This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Yes I recall both publications tipping them at 20p and 40p a couple of years back.Some people are comparing them to BritshBiotech when they reached a value of 1000 mill but I reckon that with 9 compounds in trials by the end of 2005 that MMG could out rival even their valuation.. at 120mills they have the potential to multibag at least 5 times should a big pharma show an interest.

So first of all where are we for tomorrow,mitzy any views,it looks it will open higher again lets see if profit takers dont get in the way.

Theres not much stock around after the last 3 days of hectic trading...270p close I say..

The way its closed today it looks to me this might open at about 270p,just my thought,on the other hand a rise like today would be welcomed by a lot of people.

Hi All,

I got a T-trade long on these after seeing the excitement today.

I like the look of things so far and am toying with the idea of buying a chunk into my ISA with a longer term view.

The thing that really scares me from buying for the longer term is that chart which GF posted - it's soooo vertical, there must be a sizeable correction due which would present a better buying opportunity for a longer term hold.

Has anyone else thought this ?

He ends his piece by saying, 'There could be much more to come as the world wakes up to the achievements of Dr Stevenson and her team.' - I must admit the announcement was too good for me to ignore and I have bought some MMG today also. I think we will all be looking very, very good on this stock in a small time. Cancer is such a huge killer and although there are many companies that have made big advances, the one recently announced by this company seems to have attracted not only investors attention but apparently, the attention of some major pharmaceutical companies. Licencing revenues from some of its drugs could bring in multpiles of the current market price on an annual basis. Is the pie in the sky stuff? Absolutely, but there is so much going on here and Im pretty sure we will see further news releases and updates, I just had to take a few for myself. I think this one is going to run and run. ENDS.

This has the potential to be a 500mill company ...I know MW thinks they are and I tend to agree with him.

Great start for MMG...up 40p...breaching 300p level...MMG will be a great potential with its great ruthenium compounds. GREAT!

mitzy - I think potential being the operative word.
It has the potential to generate $75m annually from the NHL Lymphoma.
It has the potential to generate $500m annually revenues from Ruthenium.
It has the potential to generate $420m+ annually from VIR5103 HIV Ribozyme.
It has the potential to generate $xxxx from Genvax Prostate cancer vaccine ,Genvax Colon cancer vaccine, Hepatitis B Ribozyme, Asthma Ribozyme, Arthritis Ribozyme......

Lots of ifs but also lots of potential which of course has value even in early stage. The risk declines as the portfolio increases.
Just need one of those to come in.
Also bear in mind Pfizer paid $6bn for Ageron to get hold of their Vircept HIV product and you begin to see the potential.
