"The BoE's governor Mervyn King faces a grilling by MPs tomorrow, and markets will be sensitive to any comments that may provide direction to future interest rate policy."

It's been a bit quiet on here lately. The Dollar's starting to look a bit overcooked again, imo. It's interesting to note that, whilst the Euro has surged to new multi-year highs, cable has failed to test the 2.0650 high.

chocolat - 25 Sep 2007 11:17 - 8454 of 11056

Couldn't you do a leopard skin print Hils?

goforit - 25 Sep 2007 12:15 - 8455 of 11056

h, do your charts give us a clue to your nail colour today?

hilary - 25 Sep 2007 15:01 - 8456 of 11056

Crystal Lilac 65 to match my lippie, G.

Sorry about the colour of the charts. The leopard print background sounds so cool. Maybe Delboy could have a word with his friend Kathy ........

MightyMicro - 25 Sep 2007 16:13 - 8457 of 11056

H, I'll see what I can do . . .

hilary - 26 Sep 2007 09:47 - 8458 of 11056

If you can get Kathy to produce some leopard print charts, Delboy, you can have my babies. I'll bring them round tomorrow.

:o)

The painters have been in and we have a new header.

Has anyone checked out Interbank FX for Trading?

Seymour Clearly - 26 Sep 2007 12:29 - 8460 of 11056

Is that Taupe Hils?

hilary - 26 Sep 2007 12:34 - 8461 of 11056

No idea, Seymour. I simply threw a dart at my laptop and that's the colour it landed upon. Unfortunately, I've also now got a hole in the screen.

:o(

Could've been worse, could've been your lap :-)

Big Al - 26 Sep 2007 13:16 - 8463 of 11056

All I know is it's far better than that pinkish-kinda thing. ;-))

Ha

goforit - 27 Sep 2007 06:49 - 8465 of 11056

sample, have had a demo account with them for a while, spreads can widen considerably in volatile conditions. quite like the trading platform and they have a news panel that sits nicely at the bottom of your screen.

A friend was asking me about dukascopy, does anyone know anything about them?

Have just dropped into see some friends in the alps with a view to sort out winter season location, bit cold and wet atm.

hilary - 27 Sep 2007 07:34 - 8466 of 11056

Whereabouts in the Alps, G?

edit: I've been watching the webcams for the place where I'm off to at Christmas. They're due their first snows this weekend.

goforit - 27 Sep 2007 10:01 - 8467 of 11056

h

Just down the road from you in the portes du soleil. There was a bit of snow last night at about 1800m..... the're trailering cattle down from the mountain which is apparently a few weeks earlier than normal! Apparently the local old boys reckon theres going to be alot of snow this year, beleive that when i see it!

hilary - 27 Sep 2007 11:29 - 8468 of 11056

I like the Portes du Soleil, G, it's a great circuit. My husband's cousin and boyfriend are both qualified ski instructors and own a massive chalet in Chatel from which they run catered skiing holidays. Where are you?

goforit - 27 Sep 2007 13:24 - 8469 of 11056

in les gets atm, did a ski course many years ago with - the ski company- in chatel, chatel was green so we had to bus to les diableret(which was a real drag), but best money i ever spent on ski instruction. First skied morzine back in the eighties, good ski area and was reasonably priced on the mountain compared to alot of other places at the time. Shame its not a bit higher, but think it will be a good place to be in for the season

chocolat - 28 Sep 2007 11:24 - 8470 of 11056

After a bit of balling up over the last few days, short swinging EUR/USD, I'm now flatski since yesterday afternoon (albeit with a few pointskis). I'm now banking on an avalanche currently around the 1.4220/30 level with the help of a bit of natural torsion.

Cable is so much more fun! It's finally schussed through the down slopey thing from July's high. Next stop possibly 2.0320, otherwise 2.04 could turn into a black diamond.

Still upright on the piste :)

hilary - 28 Sep 2007 12:20 - 8471 of 11056

Have you looked at sterling yen for fun, Chocopops. As soon as the ma's cross and turn and the macd passes through the zero line (5-min chart) it's time to press the button and hold on to your seat.

It's nearly as much fun as the Wall at Avoriaz.
