Positive balance of buys for second day running so surprising to see the price ease. Expect to see buying pressure building up during the week leading to EGM.

pth: interested in your comment re closing auction yesterday. Where can you see this and can you explain what happened? Hope you are still booming the drives straight; premium on accuracy at your course - may be better to stick to the 3-wood. Won yesterday at Lydd which is in and out of the marshes; hit by the rain half way through but think we played the course better tactically than the home bunch.

Must confess - I expected to see the sp riising by 0.5p per day this week in the run up to the EGM - not falling.

I wonder if there is significance in having the EGM as the penultimate day to the end of the month. Could they announce a deal w.e.f 1st September. Now that would be nice.

Back from Scotland, the place is buzzing with the festival if you haven't done it I highly recommend it, looks like we are waiting for the egm then.

Yet another industry trade fair for packaging. At this one other packaging companies are working in conjunction with 'Tetra Pak' ( Now haven't we been comparing some of Seo's products with Tetra Pak ).

The below is yet again more words from our no/little action government. But it could be another push for the greener re-cycling campaigners.

Morning all.

Thought that you might be interested to know that a large supermarket is starting to use Biotec's biodegrable trays for some of its fruit packaging with a view to expanding it out to all fresh products - including all types of meat and dairy.

They are also running tests right now on RF sealing of their fresh produce packaging and I assume that if they are successful - and there is no reason to doubt that they will be after ASDA's trials - then they will announce a contract with SEO as soon as the exclusive period is over in April next year.

How do I know? I teach yoga to two people who work in the head office of this supermarket chain in fresh produce managing departments.

The use of the biodegradable trays is starting next week so it will be in the public demain. So check it out and see if you can spot the change.

THIS IS NOT A RAMP BUT THE GOSPEL TRUTH

Buys 6 : 1 and still it falls. What's the betting on a very lage buy showing at the end of the day?. At a very nice price of course.

sellsell - 24 Aug 2005 10:31 - 8498 of 27111

Oily, thanks for that info, when do you think we might hear of this officially ?

Oilywag - 24 Aug 2005 10:33 - 8499 of 27111

A further thought on this news.

If one supermarket is converting and conducting trials with the RF sealing, then you can bet life (house) on the fact that they will all be at it.

I think that we might get a veritable serialisation of announcements early next year. And if its happening here, the other markets abroad will be doing the same.

Sellsell

Maybe at the EGM next week re the use of trays for the fruit packaging. And thinking about it, they may also announce that they are conducting trials with one or more supermarkets on Greenseal's RF - unless they decide to wait until it has been successful.

Oily
What large supermarket?

Sharesure - 24 Aug 2005 11:15 - 8502 of 27111

Oilywag, How does all this square with Asda's exclusivity agreement?
I am compiling a list of questions for the EGM on Tuesday. Anyone who cannot get there and wants a particular topic covering, including the obvious one of how soon for an overseas order, let me know and I'll do my best

Oilywag - 24 Aug 2005 11:27 - 8503 of 27111

Driver

I have purposely avoided mentioning the name of the supermarket because the information is not yet in the public domain.

However, they will have their fruit packed in biodegradable trays next week and then it will be safe to let you know the name, probably on Wednesday next week.

Sharesure

Who knows, SEO may make an announcement at the EGM that they are in trials both for the trays and Greenseal's RF sealing next week.

But to re-iterate the point I think I made earlier, I am sure that SEO are engaged in these activities whilst the exclusivity is ongoing with ASDA, just as long as they do not "roll out" until after this period.

Perhaps, you might want to ask them at the EGM to confirm that they conducting trials with other supermarkets' suppliers whilst the ASDA exclusivity is ongoing.
