Now that we all know what the prospects for MOS are i.e. damn good, thought I'd get a new thread going and just highlight MOS' attractions for any new investors.
Key highlights:
* Significant progress made, rationalisation programme almost complete
* Acquisitions integrated well
* International marketing network established
* Record order books, enquiry levels high, several new customers won
* Recent Director buys
From the Chairman's statement:
Outlook
Over the past year the management team has extended the product range, put in
place in-house manufacturing, rationalised the existing business and greatly
expanded the marketing effort, opening up significant new markets to MOS
products. Once the acquisitions have been fully integrated MOS will offer a
wider product range to a broader market and have a much reduced cost base. We
have record order books, we have attracted major new customers and we are
targeting new markets, worldwide. Overall, we have made good progress and the
outlook remains extremely positive.
Trading Update
MOS International PLC ('MOS'), the oilfield services company, announces that
trading is in line with market expectations. TURNOVER FOR THE YEAR TO 31st MARCH 2005 IS EXPECTED TO BE CIRCA 10M COMPARED WITH 1.05M IN THE YEAR TO 31st MARCH 2004.
MOS currently has an order book in excess of 7m for delivery prior to the year
end.
The recent acquisitions have integrated well, the rationalisation programme at
MOS is almost complete and that at Ansell Jones will be completed in this
financial year.
Tender and enquiry levels remain high and the Board is positive regarding the
future. Significant progress has been made and the business is well on the road
to recovery, with turnover forecast to show a further considerable increase, in
the next financial year.
On a turnover of 10million with a profit of say 1million, this company is on a P/E ratio of just 8 (market cap being around 8million at present). This company has been overlooked by the institutions and investors alike and is due a big re-rating soon IMHO. DYOR as usual.
Chad.

Yes I agree that it is to do with the placing.
There probably is a overhang of shares. But look how many buys there have been over the last week or so without any tips, and results are not due to be pubished for weeks/months. These buys are possibly due to brokers phoning their clients advising them to buy, especially after the announcement that turnover for 05/06 would exceed 15m, plus the announcement came about 2 weeks into that financial year so it's anyone's guess what the true figure will be, possibly more than 20m. Look how turnover has improved in the last couple of years 1.5m...........approx 10m.......through to 15/20m. "Order books are high" this company is truly going from strength to strength now, and surely must be at least a 5 bagger! all imho dyor but does anyone disagree?
Once the overhang has been cleared we will see the sp start to move north. imho.

Chrissie,
If I remember correctly the placing was for 125M shares, which will take a little time to clear. My concern is that the share price could move south before it moves north as the last shares are dumped. I and others have been able to buy at any time in the last few days at 0.79p yet the majority of shares are going through at 0.84p! I too am very bullish on this share, but need to watch the near term very closely to get the best price imho.

Canary9&Chrissy, There is no overhang from the placing. As the description implies the shares have already been 'placed' with an institutional buyer who is very unlikely to sell in the near future. The institutions normally invest for at least the medium term not as a T10. The shares can not be traded till 28/04/05 so the current buying is unrelated to the shares placed. IMHO the mms cannot resist this buying pressure for much longer. Put on your thermals we're heading a long way north.
P.S. TDW were also offering at .79p but I think the mm(s) who offered that price have now cleared the stock and have moved up in line at.84p

Thanks for putting us straight on that. Less and less trades at .79 and I agree the sp is still a bargain. Glad you didn't disagree about MOI being a 5 bagger. Unless of course you think it could go up 10 fold over the next 12 months!

Chrissie, I sincerely hope so, but I'll settle for 5. To get to a ten bagger in the next 12 months they would need to be forecasting 4.5million profit for the current year(not impossible but a lot of it will be ploughed back into continuing expansion). But if the growth continues at the present rate i.e. 10mill for last year 15-20mill this year and say a forecast for 40 million next year, who knows!!! We could be looking at more bags than Judy(as in Richard and...) carries round with her.
Sorry for that. It could never be that many.

And I'll settle for 10 bagger in 2 years, definitely not impossible if growth continues at, or exceeds, present rate. A lot of money will go towards continuing expansion, the potential for Mos Int is enormous!

The new shares can be traded from 28th. Is anyone expecting a drop either in the run up to this or at the time? If not having only bought a small amount so far as a look-see I'm tempted to add this week. There seems to be a bundle of enthusiasm and buys around this small-cap share.

Gromore, could these be T+10 trades with shares that have been pledged on the 28th? It seems very odd that there was a net17M+ buys in the last 2 days without the shares moving up!

Canary9, It does seem strange that there has not been a tick up. But the prices that have been going through on the buys do seem to indicate that one or more of the mms have had a stock overhang which they have been clearing at .79p. That would appear to have now been cleared judging by the lack of .79p buys on Friday. The unusual volume seems to point to a recommendation to 'buy' from a broker to clients. I don't think it is just MOI's irresistability that is pulling in the buyers. This is all speculation on my part, but I'm just trying to fathom what is going on. That announcement of the placing would appear to have had an overall positive effect especially because the trading update that was made at the same time.
andysmith, It is difficult for anyone to stick out their neck on this one for fear of feeling responsible for any loss you might incurr. However, my thinking would be that MOI does appear to have a much larger upside than downside risk at the moment. Whether you pay .84p or .75p will not make much odds in the longer term, but if it starts to move up rapidly you will struggle to get any appreciable number of shares at a good price. Personally, I don't think it will fall and could well go up, but as always it's your call so please don't blame me.

Gromore. would never blame anyone but myself, pressing the BUY button is my responsibility but I value others thoughts and was just wondering what the general view was. When I've seen other placings, even my favourite SEO in Feb, the sp has suffered short-term before recovering but MOI doesn't seem to be affected (yet!) and I wondered why. Plenty of buying at 30% above the placement price adds good confidence and its picking the moment to add but like you say, in the long-run once MOI is noticed buys at 0.75p or 0.84p won't make that much difference. I said the same thing about SEO last year when 4-6p and I have a similar positive outlook on MOI right now, I like Chrissie's enthusiasm for this and the projected potential profit numbers. MOI appears too cheap right now based upon future projected profits and growth.

Thanks, I hope it works out for all of us, picking the gems can really make the difference to a portfolio, you can bury the crap decisions then and move on.
I'm hoping MOI is the next gem out there waiting to be discovered by the market, after I've topped up of course!

Oh dear, Midas, Golden wotsits, I've been called worse and before this years swing in fortunes on just 3 stocks the missus would have kicked me in the wotsits for being useless and 10% down. Just shows how dramatically things can change when you get a good one, not to mention 3, I am so lucky even though I'd like to think there was an element of good stock-picking. Have only 4 stocks at moment, OK with 3 of them, a little concerned with MDW at moment though!!
I am hoping MOI is the next good one and that my luck hasn't run out.

I'm also known as Mr Indecisive, still havn't decided whether to add now or on 28th, still waiting!! Having had the bad times last year I am still not too confident in myself and I am usually content to pay a few percent more and be satisfied with my decision.

Let us know what you decide but as gromore said whether you pay 75 or 85 won't make much difference in the longer term depends how low you think it will go and hw closely you watch. Very few trades going through at .79p now, still who knows what will happen on 28th. I'm in now and so all I really care about is the results and the chairman's statement that goes with them.....I hope and believe it will be extremely positive and once everyone else sees the potential of this company then the train will have well and truly left the station!
