OK Fred I propose these "Two" meetings.
1. February 18th. (Monday) 1pm till when people want to go, at The Wellington, Bennetts Lane. 5 mins from New Street Station
http://www.thewellingtonrealale.co.uk. They don't do food but do welcome customers to bring their own. They supply knives and forks etc. Who ever gets there first try and grab a table in a quite area of the pub and put a Shares/IC or FT on the table so it's recognisable to newcomers.
2. March 3rd. (Monday) 4.30 till again, when people want to go at The Anchor, Bradford Street , Digbeth. 10 minutes walk from New Street Station
http://www.the-anchor-inn.fsnet.co.uk/. Food served all day. Ask for the former No Smoking room.
So, one Midday Meeting for those that prefer the daytime at the current favourite pub The Welly and one early evening meeting at our original Hostelry The Anchor.
If you can't make the beginning don't worry just arrive when you can as we don't use an agenda...just remembered the meeting after Christmas was going to be a meal affair, shall we scratch that until another time?
All welcome.

What are you up to? It is very quiet.
Any views on banks. Keep on looking at them and then looking away again.
But dividends and P/Es look rewarding, but charts are horrible.
Forecasts are on old information.
Don't know.

Hi Fred.... Don't think todays US figures were too good and were below expectations:
The Institute of Supply Management said its non-manufacturing index fell to
44.6%, the first contraction since March 2003. The median estimate of economists
surveyed by IFR Markets was 53%. Reading below 50% indicate contraction.
So, good time to decorate again as gardening is out due to hail showers..... but then I suppose indoor bonsai is a possibility..... beats hari kari by share trading in present market...... if in doubt, stay out or put it all on a gee-gee at Ludlow tomorrow.

I know the feeling.
Pull out of AQP and XTA earlier.
Looking or buy EZJ at lower price, might reduce the limit price,
Might consider shorting when I see the close to-night.
Don't wear out the brush.

Hi Fred.... as far as I recall the Wellington doesn't serve food - so guess a meal is off the menu there - although I think you can bring your own food in and they will provide the culinary eating instruments. I'll probably make the Wellington 'meeting' - but as food is off the menu then it shouldn't be a 'meat-eating' as such.

.... but the 'Pig on the Wall Mild' at the Wellington is as nourishing as food ..... and just as medicinal (.... but I'll give Stan the credit of spotting that particular food there).
The following article confirms the food situation..... so perhaps I'll bring a durian along with me ;-) :
"You can't buy food there, they have no kitchen, but you can bring in any food you like and eat it there - they'll even give you cutlery and plates."
http://beercast.blogspot.com/2007/11/in-praise-ofthe-wellington.html
after that write-up I can visualise customers leaving the premises with plates and knives & forks stuffed in their jacket pockets ..... I presume the writer meant " they'll even loan you cutlery and plates."
