Dowgate Capital (DGT) are sitting
in the middle of a goldmine!
This company through
their sole trading arm City Financial Associates are looking to take full
advantage of the "booming" AIM market this year.
Dowgate provide NOMAD (NOMinated ADvisor) services to AIM companies
and also have full Corporate Broker status which means that they can fund
placements on behalf of the companies they represent.
|
|
On first sight, the
fact that Dowgate exist in the often veiled financial services sector
makes you think twice about investing in company such as this because
it would be impossible to understand what they were doing - however, think
again!
DGT bring new companies
to the AIM (Alternative Investment Market). For each new company "floated"
on AIM, they take arrangement fees when acting as NOMAD. After the company
is launched then for a nice steady earner DGT get another healthy chunk
of cash every year for looking after them (note that all AIM companies
must have a nominated adviser - thereby securing a ready source of recurring
income).
Because DGT also act
as a Corporate broker they can get a very healthy percentage for arranging
placement of shares with insititutions before a new company floats. In
addition, because placements come outside the sphere of yearly NOMAD work,
they can also gain healthy percentages of placements which companies may
need to make throughout the year when they need a quick injection of cash
to speed growth.
Current NOMADships:
28 companies represented (gives recurring income of approx 480,000
per year)
Current on-going Brokerage
agreements: 19 companies (income depends on placements)
For flotations, depending
on the size of a company, fees charged will be anything from 50,000
to 100,000+
For placements (the real earner), DGT get anything from 3% to around 12%
of the TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED - For example a new company raising 3M
though a placement will earn DGT anything from 90,000 to 360,000
!
These figures are indicative as actual deals all differ due to circumstances
and DGT sometimes take payment in shares - they still have a tasty chunk
of Setstone shares and when this Russian exploration company comes back
to AIM, predictions are that the share price will rocket.
Note that the amount that this little company can earn in fees is huge
and every new deal that comes through we know will contribute another
healthy chunk into the bottom line. The good news with every new floatation
means that it's another chunk of recurring revenue which could go on for
years, with DGT having to do very little.
New clients gained in 2005 are:

Well done Tony - another masterpiece of understatement helping the SP rise through an orderly market without spiking horribly. Not often a company has to issue a TA to calm fears that the results will be too good! As one of the regulars says on SEO thread, "Warning, shares can seriously increase your wealth. The price can go up as well as down. You may get back more than you paid!"
No worries, no hurries - we'll get there all in good time. More than 50% since I first started buying these in March and plenty more to go still.
Great day for DGT and all her investors.

Brilliant piece of timing by TR. Have been out all day and following yesterday's slowdown in buying, fully expected a retracement today. TR has clearly demonstrated that he has the shareholder's interests fully at heart (including his own). I am tres impressed. Does anyone know if that 2M trade was a but or sell? Incredibly close spread for DGT at times today. This now has attained the interest of the MMs.

Didn't think he would take long to re-appear. Shame he's talking out of his ass, but from what little I read of his posts he seems to have a habit of doing that! Amazing how these people crawl out of the woodwork when things start going well and can think of nothing better to do than post utter crap. I rest comfortable in the knowledge that I have a substantial DGT holding and I am well in profit.
I think TR's statement will take a little while to settle in and following the fantastic rise over the last few weeks, would expect something of a cooling off period. Looking good for the Interims, has hoped for July, but content to wait for August.
Perhaps Shares Mag would like to do an update?

Just catching up on the day and seen the trading statement which is great news.
Out of interest when I looked on screen a few times during the day I didn't pick up on it because their was no "N" symbol against DGT in my stockwatch. Other shares had it but not DGT. Looking through posts here no-one seems to have mentioned it so was it showing up on yours or is there a reason for it's omission? ( The statement is there when I click on the DGT symbol and go through to latest news- but not the alert on the main screen)

I have spoken to Ian (AM) and requested that all the old CFP data is imported into the DGT Charts, I suspect that the N omission is probably related.

Nice to hear from you, Tony. Understand you don't have time to work the figures out for yourself, so tis good of you to put all the transactions on the website so that we can do it for ourselves. You'll be pleased to learn that your optimism is justified and you will will certainly be able to report an interim profit. Still another eight days to improve them further so tis good to know that your level of commitment hasn't waned.
I thought that nice message from Tony (Rawlinson not Blah) deserved a nice reply. Its good of the MMs to hold the price back so that anyone who reads this bb can top up and double their money be the end of August! Isn't everything wonderful - and my daughter-in-law has gone into hospital (Addenbrooke's, praise be) to have her baby early.

Best of luck for the daughter, looking forward to seeing you next week. perhaps you would like to put up 100,000 DGT shares for nearest the pin?

That would only leave Eric with 2.9m of them!
Eric, TR took the words right out of my mouth. I did offer to put together the interim report for him, but he though he could probably manage it in-house (oh, yeah! after he'd seen me do all the work - typical!) and save my fees off the overhead.
Roll on August. How about putting up 100,000 shares for whoever is nearest the profit before taxto end of June? That'll leave 2.8m, but still enough to pay for the christening I reckon.

Hi OG
Just got back in from the course and very hot it has been. Always amazes me when a company issues an upbeat trading statement and small investors sell. What's all that about? their loss, patience will be the key over the next few months and hopefully years. I don't think TR has put a foot wrong yet. Will be interesting to finally see the interims and try and guage what sort of fees DGT attain through work other than placings, ie TGM. May give us an idea for the Finals next year. Agree with this cash shell stuff, I'll have to look and see how many DGT's clients are shell, although I think not very many.
