Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

I'm not orange.

fred - surely you're not going to claim that uk welcomed jewish refugess with open arms in the late 30s?

i assume you accept that british naval ships blocked or even sank jewish refugee ships trying to reach israel in the late 40 and early 50s

Fred1new - 01 Feb 2018 13:29 - 8568 of 12628

Are you praising or condemning the action of some or all in the 30s,40s and 50s?

If so which actions do you think praiseworthy?

Are you suggesting the sinking of "immigrants' boats" in the ME resolves problems?

If so for whom is it problem-solving.

According to the Sunday Times, Theresa May is facing a coup plot to put Brexit-backers Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and Jacob Rees-Mogg in power.

The trio would take on the roles of Prime Minister, deputy Prime Minister and Chancellor, respectively, the newspaper says.

It comes amid continuing Tory divisions over whether Britain should remain in a customs union with the EU after Brexit.

As Wellington said in the Peninsular war.:
I don't know what effect these men will have upon the enemy, but, by God, they frighten me.
:)

Agreed!

Not many people know, that JRM had 'double-breasted pyjamas'.

But George Galloway does, and furthermore, he says all the top political leaders are all 'mad men' and with fingers on their nuclear buttons. That is, excepting Theresa May, who is obviously not a mad man.

He wears pyjamas? Enough said!

:o)

hilary - 04 Feb 2018 15:57 - 8576 of 12628

And George Galloway's lift goes all the way to the top floor? After dressing as a cat and licking cream off Rula Lenska, some might say that he's a bit of a madman himself.

Resentful in Redcar: ‘We made the finest steel in the world – now we make lattes’

Those who felt they had nothing left to lose used the EU referendum to fight back – and they warn they’ll fight again if another vote is called

If Mr Resentful from Redcar had bothered to turn up for school, he might have learned that Brussels isn't responsible for the demise of the UK steel industry!

...with a hole in the front, though.

If you look into the whole electrikery and other industries that have the €U medling fingerprints all over them, you will find a different story hilly.

A good easy to follow example would be Fords of Southampton .. who decamped to Turkey .. facilitated by €U money .. go figure.

Fred1new - 04 Feb 2018 20:20 - 8581 of 12628

Max,

As you are reading the Observer, have a look at Rawnsley's "Taking their knives to Mrs Mays Toga".

Or "Rethink how the state does business with the private sector."

Max,

To quote from the article: "He wants an end to cheap imports of foreign goods, like the Chinese steel that did for the local plant."

Like I say, if Mister Shit For Brains had turned up for school, he may have looked at a map and seen that China isn't in Europe. But good luck with your new business partners nonetheless.

Fred1new - 04 Feb 2018 21:33 - 8583 of 12628

Hilary,

Perhaps you were luckier with your parents than he is/was.

Ps.

Where is China?

MaxK - 04 Feb 2018 23:18 - 8584 of 12628

Fred

Thank you for the links, Ill have a look manana.

hilly, you're ignorance is breathtaking: I thought you had brains.

hilary - 05 Feb 2018 08:36 - 8585 of 12628

Max,

I'm not the one who thinks China is in Europe, or that Ford moved Transit production to Turkey because of the EU.

Did it not occur to you that their Southampton plant was a problem, they wanted out regardless, and the EIB gave them a solution? Maybe the city of Southampton should have done more to support the plant and protect jobs in the area? But hey, let's all blame the EU for our woes regardless, because Juncker allegedly likes a drink, and he's an easy target.

Strewth, next you'll get somebody on this thread claiming that Brexit will stop illegal immigration. Ooops, I forgot. Somebody already did!

Now that's ignorance for you!!!
