Thanks for the Java info, Hils.
Apparently I have SE6 version 1.6.0-oem
I shall tread trepidatiously :S

chocolat - 26 Oct 2007 12:36 - 8569 of 11056

Hmm.
When I click update it tells me the box for checking updates automatically is ticked, I'm s'posed to be notified before downloading, and Java update was last run on 9. October.

Think I'll wait until a person with more brain is around :S

chocolat - 26 Oct 2007 12:48 - 8570 of 11056

I'm sure I'm being thick, but is Update 2 anywhere on here?

Ooops edit: is it one of these?

Hi all, sounds like you're coining it in. Just back from a few weeks in uk(eldest son had acl reconstructive surgery about a month ago so did a bit of chauffeuring as he cant drive for another week). just before going back to uk, we had our village fiesta, have put a link that shows the bull of fire(toro de fuego) at the end of a four day piss up....mad spaniard with an oil drum on his back full of fireworks!

Chocopops:

To check out your Java, go to http://www.java.com

To the right of the big green button which says 'Free Java Download', you'll see three menu items in blue -- the middle one says 'Do I have Java?' Click on that -- it will check that you have the correct version/latest version installed for your environment and it will tell you what to do if you don't.

Cable has been trending well - been long since earlier - looking to cash in soon - and then a re-entry on a bit of a pull-back - hopefully.

chocolat - 29 Oct 2007 13:12 - 8577 of 11056

It's telling me I need update 3 - I was trying to avoid that and get update 2, cos of what Hils said - which brings me back to my original quest - where do I find it?

hilary - 29 Oct 2007 13:19 - 8578 of 11056

Chocopops,

I'm not saying that you shouldn't have Update 3. I'm saying that there seems to be a conflict somewhere with the combination of Update 3, PowerCharts and Matrox MM displays and I rolled back to Update 2 to get over the problem.

If you click Start>Control Panel>Java>General tab>About, that should tell you what version you're using.

hilary - 29 Oct 2007 13:21 - 8579 of 11056

The conflict prevented me from dragging a detached window across from one monitor to adjacent monitors. It allowed me to do it with other windows; Just not the FXPowerCharts ones.

chocolat - 29 Oct 2007 13:23 - 8580 of 11056

Ah ok - thanks.

I'll shut my eyes and press go then :o)

mg - 29 Oct 2007 13:29 - 8581 of 11056

Whilst you 2 are playing with your Java thingies I have gone long again @ 580 (on cable) based on a 3 minute chart.

Did you change the batteries on the model 2 or 3 - they don't go on forever you know :)

hilary - 29 Oct 2007 13:30 - 8582 of 11056

Old versions and updates of Java remain installed on your PC. If there's a problem with the update, you can remove the current update through Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and it will roll back to the last update.

hilary - 29 Oct 2007 13:32 - 8583 of 11056

meggers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mg - 29 Oct 2007 13:33 - 8584 of 11056

Here's a java bunny - don't think it needs batteries like yours do

Goodness me Hilipoo whatever did you think I meant :)

chocolat - 29 Oct 2007 13:44 - 8585 of 11056

mg - 29 Oct 2007 13:51 - 8586 of 11056

Told you to change the batteries - you need it for that poundyenny thingimibob - like a wotsit in a watchamcallit.

hilary - 29 Oct 2007 13:59 - 8587 of 11056

Oh I wasn't offended by talk of the Rampant Rabbit, meggers. It was because you broke the Rules of the Arrers.
