VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

Results of Latest Drilling Programmes

VANE Minerals Plc ("VANE") is pleased to announce the successful completion of
the first round of exploration drilling at the Guadalcazar project in the state
of San Luis Potosi, Mexico as well as completion of second-stage drilling at
Mina Charay in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico.

Guadalcazar:

Approximately 1,067 metres of HQ core were obtained from 12 drill holes located
on a spacing of approximately 500 metres. Anomalous values of gold and silver
were detected in every hole drilled. Initial assays indicate gold and silver
values as high as 0.5 g/t and 38 g/t respectively. Bedrock limestone was found
to be hydrothermally altered (marbleised) in several holes located in the
western part of the district.

A programme of check assaying is now underway to confirm analytical results. The
drill core samples will also be analyzed for tin and mercury as this
information, along with the marbleised zones will aid in directing future
drilling toward more strongly mineralized centre(s) that will be the object of a
second round of drilling. This is planned for later this summer.

Mina Charay:

A second round of diamond drilling has now been completed at Mina Charay
consisting of 12 holes and bringing the total number of holes completed to 19.
Nine of these holes intersected mineralized veins with a weighted average gold
grade of 12.41 g/t and weighted average silver grade of 112.42 g/t over an
average core length of 2.2 m corresponding to a true vein thickness of
approximately 2 m. The nine holes are all located within a zone 200 metres long
which trends N70E. The holes in question are all parallel, bearing S20E, and
inclined at -45 to -60 degrees to the south. Holes are spaced 25 to 50 metres
apart along the 200-metre length of the vein system. Mineralization remains open
at depth and possibly to the west.

The mineralized intersections for Mina Charay are summarized below:

Initial Drilling Campaign

DDH# Interval(m) Core length (m) Au g/t Ag g/t

1 17.7 - 18.3 0.6 5.59 185.1
1A 25.6 - 28.5 2.9 24.94 290.1
2 26.0 - 27.4 1.4 10.10 30.9
3 51.3 - 53.5 2.2 1.93 29.4
4 30.2 - 34.0 3.8 6.09 63.4

Second (Current) Drilling Campaign

7 31.4 - 35.2 3.8 7.06 99.3
8 54.9 - 57.9 3.0 20.34 70.4
14 25.6 - 25.9 0.3 11.86 24.0
15 39.9 - 42.0 2.2 19.45 172.7

Based on the high-grade nature of the mineralization, the relatively shallow
depth and continuity along the 200-metre strike length of the vein system, VANE
intends to initiate a third drilling campaign in order to define a resource and
assist in the development plan.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, comments, "The results at Guadalcazar
corroborate our belief in the widespread nature of the gold and silver
mineralisation across this potentially major project, as well as confirming that
the deposit is indeed hydrothermal. We will now concentrate our efforts on
identifying higher grade areas of mineralisation through the second round of
drilling. We are also very encouraged with the progress being made at Mina
Charay and will continue to move this forward as quickly as possible."

Background:

Guadalcazar is a large newly recognised hydrothermal system, previously thought
to be alluvial until recently defined by the VANE team. The project is directly
from the Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold Co. Exploration Database that is
available exclusively to the Company and therefore is subject to the agreement
the Company has with Freeport-McMoRan (details of which can be found at the
company's website www.vaneminerals.com). The exploration licence covers an area
of over 20km(2). Within this large area, through geochemical and geophysical
sampling, the Company has identified drilling targets which the Company believes
may lead to a large gold deposit.

VANE entered into an option agreement to acquire Mina Charay in September 2004.
The Company believes the prospect could be fast tracked into production and may
therefore offer the potential for generating rapid cash flow. This is in line
with VANE's strategy when it acquired the high grade Diablito gold / silver
property ("Diablito") in the state of Nayarit, Mexico. If successful, cash flow
from production at Diablito and/or Mina Charay will enable the Company to expand
its exploration programme and will allow further expansion of its asset
portfolio without over-extending its resources.

Typlical mag.
Good RNS, wonder what we will see happen with the sp today after a day of blue yesterday.

Madison - 26 May 2005 08:00 - 866 of 2220

I think the last paragraph about Mina Charay generating rapid cash flow is what I am most pleased about. Guadalcazar: looks very good and possibily of tin and mercury too.

Cheers, Madison

PS Shares mag doesn't surprise me!

Surprised that the price has only ticked up .25 so far - would have expected a tad more. Patience

dawsinho - 26 May 2005 08:26 - 871 of 2220

Not to sure how to take the Guadalcazar news, doesn't sound like thier to keen to push on with it for now. They must think that it has potential otherwise, why else schedule another round of drilling?

On the other hand great news about Mina Charey, think they will want to push on with this one as quick as poss and get it cash postive. With high grade mineralization and shallow depth this boeds well me thinks.

Madison - 26 May 2005 10:01 - 872 of 2220

Back from taking my daughter to school and I can see my initial quick reaction to Guadalcazar was wrong. A lot more information required and it may not be so quick to arrive.

Doesn't worry me too much though. Vane has many strings to its bow and it's inevitable that results will vary from project to project. The Mina Charay news is excellent and we are looking forward to plenty more news to come.

What does concern me is that a lack of investment input and a too high proportion of trading input will impede the sp developing momentum. I know this is a debate that is permanently run on BBs. My view, as an investor and sometime trader, is that the negative effects of short-termism are more pronounced on a stock like this than either a large company or a company with massive trading volumes (eg SEO). What is surprising when you look at the trading patterns in VML is how little money anyone would be making from it (straight share-dealing). The transaction quantities are too small for it to be worth going in for a couple of pence rise. Yet it would seem some are doing that.

Well, I expect someone more experienced, more knowledgeable or just plain brighter will be along to put me right soon!

Cheers, Madison

goldfinger - 26 May 2005 10:18 - 873 of 2220

Overall I think thats an excellent RNS update. Blimey what do people want Blood.

The drilling results are far better than those from Avocet mining in its infancy and that one went on from 19p to 100p within approx two years.

Miners can be frustrating stocks to hold patience is required.

cheers GF.

loadsadosh - 26 May 2005 10:30 - 874 of 2220

Madison,
The most common sense based post that I,v seen for along while. When you look at the very small volume of shares traded in any one day it would seem that, given the nature of day trading, you just could not make your money i.e. a 1pence rise in the share price if you held 100,000 shares would get you 1,000 there are few trades in this stock on a daily basis of 50k = 250 and usually a shift in share price of .25p to .75p is usual.

Loadsa

Madison - 26 May 2005 10:57 - 875 of 2220

Thanks loadsa.

GF, like your comparison with Avocet! Yep, it does seem a lot of people are prepared to ignore all the positive factors with this company and determined to focus on anything that's questionable. A bit of decent investment and we'd soon breach previous sp highs.

Cheers, Madison

bhunt1910 - 26 May 2005 11:07 - 876 of 2220

Sorry chaps - but yes I do find this share frustrating. A Good positive RNS - and still the share price falls.

Patience not my strong suit - but I will still hold
