Officially, Tesco's prices are lower than Asda's for the first time. Yet another reason for Asda to push cost savings lower quicker via any method that is available. Also Tesco will be looking to increase its market lead. No doubt they will be looking at any innovations that Asda are currently using, although I would think they are well up with the game. price wars have been with us for several years now, but competition and margins have never been so tight. Just wait till the 12 months is up.

Tesco jumped 5.75p higher to 331.5p as Goldman Sachs found that for the first time since starting its study of grocery prices in the UK, the supermarkets group offering is cheaper than arch rivals Asda.

Morning all

For those that are going to the EGM, a question of a slightly more light-hearted nature to ask the Directors:

Do they approve of Paul Masterton's SEO research web site and has any of the enquiries he has directed to the company proved helpful.

Now let me hasten to say that in proposing the question, I am not indicating that I disaprove of Paul's site. I think he does a wonderful job of providing quality information to new investors who wanting to get handle on the company's future business prospects.

Do we know of anyone going to the EGM and if so are there a list of questions we might ask them to put to the directors on our behalf?

bosley - 26 Aug 2005 09:30 - 8582 of 27111

sharesure is going and he has a list .

Oilywag
I know you are a member of pm1's fan club, but I think there is more important stuff to ask the SEO directors than what they think of a punters Web Site, may be I should ask them what they think of my Research Page.
Bring back seq, all is forgiven.

here, here

seroxat - 26 Aug 2005 10:34 - 8585 of 27111

Might be asking a bit much but can anyone post the questions to be asked?

Although I think that PM's research web site if great, I am only a fan of Paul's more reasoned and measured posts. I am sure that he knows that.

And without wishing to be patronising to you, I had in honesty overlooked your site with which I have only recently become acquainted. The chronological list of events and the list of 26 points giving the full background to recent develoments is exhaustively thorough and detailed. Don't know where you get the energy or find the time.

If any investor ever needs to remind themself of the reason for investing in SEO then your two sites provides all the confirmation that their decision was based on sound and logical thinking at the time of making the investment.

What was behind my propsed question is whether SEO think you guys are providing a service which they are not. There have many comments on several bb that the company is not moving quickly enough to use the web as an effective shop window for their different products.

I would also love to know what income before tax they are expecting each thousand machines converted to Greenseal and using Starpol trays to yield to the company. That would put an end to a lot of inaccurate back of the envelop forecasts which appear on all the boards and are not helpful to new investors evaluating SEO as a medium or longterm investment.

However, I suspect that questions of that type will remain unanswered if submitted.

Driver,I personaly think you have made a brilliant research page, but I didn't think Oily was asking seo management to rate different web sites or pages,I felt their answer re Pauls web site could be quite interesting re any referals they may have had from it or other comments they may wish to make. They may well be more important information sought.but I thought a valid question never the less.

oily, i would recommend actually calling the company ,(probably after the egm). i have found seo to be very good at pr and dealing with shareholders. i am sure they will answer any questions over the phone.

bosley - 26 Aug 2005 10:46 - 8589 of 27111

firstly , let's get real here.

"What was behind my propsed question is whether SEO think you guys are providing a service which they are not. There have many comments on several bb that the company is not moving quickly enough to use the web as an effective shop window for their different products."

could seo really move any faster? i mean , from conception to commercialisation in less than a year with the number 2 supermarket in uk is pretty quick.

Sharesure - 26 Aug 2005 10:48 - 8590 of 27111
